Awaiting replacing the infamous Philips CD-i 'timekeeper' IC - this is a special encapsulated custom chip they made that houses a small lithium cell & clock oscillator.
I have two CD-i machines to fix; I decided to snip the old IC legs & socket this for obvious reasons (in another 10 years!), the CD tray band was also sourced in Germany and now tray works 100% 😊
