I was at Headcorn Aerodrome yesterday for their International Airshow. Several aircraft that I hadn't seen before were there, including the American-built P47 Thunderbolt. This was a a very big aircraft in comparison to its contemporaries and was powered by an 18 cylinder Pratt and Whitney Radial Engine. This type of aircraft was actually stationed at Headcorn during WWII (wheh it was RAF Lashenden). To give you an idea of its size, I've posted a picture of it along with a picture of a Spitfire Mk Vb run by the BBMF. Look at the pilot in each aircraft and you'll see how much bigger the American plane is

I visited Leeds Castle, Kent yesterday for the Queen's Joust. While it was good fun, it wasn't easy getting pictures of the jousr. So here are some shots of some of the ladies that they very gracuously allowed me to take.
