Hengistbury Head from another side… 🌊🌿

Sometimes you just have to turn around and look at a familiar place from a different angle. Same Hengistbury Head, completely different view. The coastline, the harbour and that big open sky all coming together to remind me why this is still one of my favourite places to wander with a camera.

There’s something rather special about standing up here, looking out across the Solent, with the coastline stretching away into the distance. On a clear day, you can see for miles — and it’s a pretty good reminder of just how lucky we are to have places like this on our doorstep.

I’ve photographed this view more times than I care to admit, but somehow it never gets boring. Different light, different weather, different mood — and it always seems to have something new to offer.

A quiet moment in the New Forest 🦌🌿

A whole herd of deer taking it easy this morning — some enjoying a well-earned rest in the long grass, while a few stood proudly on guard, keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings.

You don’t always need to go anywhere for a decent sunset. Last night the sky decided to put on its own little performance, with the sun disappearing behind the horizon and leaving everything bathed in those beautiful evening colours.

No walking boots, no car journey, no chasing wildlife… just stood outside the house with the camera and enjoyed the view. Sometimes retirement really does have its benefits! 🌅📸
