Firstly thank you all for the kind messages and concern after my post from hospital on Friday last week.
Nothing too much to worry about, it seems that a clip used in my surgery for Prostate Cancer has become detached and has been rattling around inside my bladder for a few months causing me to constantly feel like I need to go to the toilet, sometimes every 5 to 10 minutes! Making life very difficult and frustrating, the clip also tore the lining of my bladder on a 10km run causing me to bleed quite badly which was very disconcerting and not a pretty sight!
So it looks like another trip to hospital for me in a couple of weeks for a small operation to remove the clip which has come to rest at the opening of my bladder and attracting all sorts of particles and minerals! I have pictures to prove it !
So it seems like the perfect time to let you all know that in just 28 days, on May 28th I will once again be riding in the RideLondon Essex sportive, 100 miles from Victoria Embankment in Central London out into Essex and finishing back in London on Tower Bridge, to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.
It’s been 2 years since my diagnosis and surgery and I’m still living with the on going consequences, some days can be really frustrating and it can really get on top of me but thanks to the support I received I’m still here to help others in my situation.
Diagnosis is often just the beginning of the cancer journey and I really do encourage all my male friends to get themselves tested every year, if caught early enough treatment can be straightforward, DON’T PUT OFF GETTING TESTED.
Last year I raised around £2500 through various endeavours and I am really hoping to raise as much as I can this year to help other men that find themselves in the position I was in.
You too can stand together with me to help beat the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK.
Any contribution you are able to make, not matter how small, will be massively appreciated and will go a long way to helping.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
