Blue Moon Portraits is run by Lynsey. I like to create a different memory for every family so that everyone experiences something unique, the atmosphere is fun and also relaxed. I believe in not only getting to know parents but the needs of your children too whether they are days old or 15 years or you bring one two or more. Each child is unique so for me getting to know you as a family and what w

orks for you is my way of creating those happy memories that will last a lifetime. I strive to bring each family the best experience they can have with memories that will last forever. Especially with newborns, they don't stay small forever so what better way to capture your new baby than with a newborn session. I take newborn and baby safety extremely to heart. A good photographer will know what to do to look after your precious bundle of joy and I follow a strict code of conduct to make sure that you not only have amazing products but that your baby is safe at all times. I no longer offer weddings in my services but have a few local recommendations if you would like to ask I can point you in those directions. The Christmas Model Call was meant to launch tonight, but I’m going to push it back by just one day.

It’s been a bit of a difficult evening in our house with autism struggles and the kids needing me a little more tonight, so family comes first 💛

But I’ll be back tomorrow with the Christmas Model Call 🎅✨ plus a wee update on this year’s Christmas Mini Sessions!

Look how much he has grown.....
I love capturing both stages that early newborn stage and the one we all miss is my second favourite shoot to photograph. Sitter stage, where the personality comes out fully, the giggles the laughter, the cheeky faces.

I will have more to share later but right now I have a little newborn due in so best get the camera on.

🌕✨ A wee full moon apology...

If you’re waiting on an email, gallery or reply from me this week, I promise I haven’t forgotten about you!

I currently have my youngest at home with me full time, so I’m juggling his needs alongside editing, admin and keeping Blue Moon Portraits ticking over. Things are just moving a wee bit slower than normal this week, so thank you for bearing with me. 🤍

And seeing as there’s a lunar eclipse tonight, here’s a cool wee fact...

🌕 During a lunar eclipse the Moon can turn RED! 🔴
It happens because sunlight travels through Earth’s atmosphere before reaching the Moon, and our atmosphere filters out much of the blue light. It’s basically the light from all the sunrises and sunsets around Earth being projected onto the Moon. 🌍🌅🌕
Pretty cool, eh?

Apparently the best of it is happening in the very early hours... and I’m making absolutely no promises that I’ll still be awake 😂

My studio near the West End Filling Station in Dingwall has two studio spaces, including my cosy baby room especially for Newborn Sessions.
It’s a little home from home vibe, comfy sofa with snacks, time to relax and room for everyone.
Parents, siblings, grandparents and pets are all welcome. 🐾
