The deeply flawed EHCR Guidance came into effect today. Our thoughts are with all our trans members, their friends and family, and the wider trans community.

We want to be absolutely clear: the EHRC code is non-binding guidance, not the law. It does not change the Equality Act 2010.

We are and always will be a safe and inclusive space for our trans folk, and we will continue to use our platform to oppose transphobia in all its forms, including this punitive and oppressive legislation.

Please check in on folks today and be kind to each other. These attacks on our community are a blunt reminder of why our chorus family is so needed today.

Today, the updated EHRC Code of Practice on Services, Public Functions and Associations comes into force.
We know it’s a heavy day for so many, and that people in our community will be feeling anxious, angry and exhausted. We wanted to send some love and say your Scissters are with you all the way and will continue to fight the good fight and create spaces where we can all feel safe and at home. If you’re looking for information, guidance or support, our friends Not A Phase have put together resources to help you understand what these changes may mean and where you can find support.

This weekend, an estimated 150,000 people marched through the streets of London for London Trans+ Pride, making it the largest Trans Pride event in the world, according to organizers.

The crowd included trans people, nonbinary people, families, friends, allies, and supporters, all showing up to say the same thing:

Trans people belong.

At a time when trans people in both the UK and the U.S. are facing increasing political attacks, misinformation, and efforts to erase their identities, this march was more than a celebration.

It was a reminder.

A reminder that love is louder than fear.
That community is stronger than hate.
That when people stand together, hope grows.

If you’re a trans person or the parent of a trans child, we hope you see this and remember something important:

The voices spreading fear may sometimes seem overwhelming, but they are not the whole story.

Around the world, countless people are standing beside trans people and saying:

We see you.
We value you.
We will not stop showing up for you.

To every trans person reading this:

You deserve to live openly, safely, and authentically.

And to every ally:

Keep using your voice.
Keep showing up.
Keep making room at the table.

Because every act of love and solidarity helps build a world where every LGBTQ+ person can thrive. 🏳️‍⚧️
