UPCOMING AUTUMN MINI SESSIONS
Belfast : L’Derry : Gortin Glens : Antrim

This September and October we’ll be holding family mini sessions at various locations around Northern Ireland, taking in some of our most beautiful spots in Counties Tyrone, Antrim and L’Derry and we’d love to see you in front of our camera!
With the schools back again after the summer break I’m sure you’re the same as me, and you feel like time is marching on, and your family is growing faster than you can believe. My kids feel like they’ve aged a year in the space of the summer break and it’s breaking my heart.
So when I say to people ‘don’t put off getting your family photographs for too long’ I really do mean it because those years are way too short.
As always these mini sessions will be our usual blend of gentle posing and playful prompts to help you relax, and draw out real smiles and interactions. We love client suggestions whether it’s from parents or kids, and we want to make every session unique to you so you can look back in years to come and recognise the people in the photos having fun.

Upcoming locations and dates for your diaries are:

Ormeau Park, Belfast: Sunday 13th Sept

St Columb's Park, L'Derry: Saturday 19th September

Gortin Glens Forest Park, Co Tyrone: Sunday 20th September

Antrim Castle Gardens: Sunday 11th October

These mini sessions are priced at £40 for each 20 minute session, and they include 4 high resolution digital images to download and keep with the option of upgrading to the full gallery of 30+ images for an additional £40.

Sessions can be gifted to others if you wish, and it’s something we’ve seen become more common as people who have had a shoot with us want to share the experience with loved ones. And of course if you think you know of someone who would like to book a session for their own family we’d love for you to share the details with them, word of mouth is one of the main ways we find new clients and it’s always greatly appreciated.

Reminiscing this evening about a summer’s day when these gorgeous people said ‘I do!’ in the stunning Roe Valley Resort
Mark and Lisa’s day was very much a family focussed occasion, and the amount of love on display for them was clear to see. After a tragic bereavement in the family in the lead up to the wedding those family ties and bonds become even more important and are what bind us all together when the chips are down.
Days like this are why I choose to photograph weddings.

Who says the rain has to stop play for your family session?!?! No us anyway!
We don’t mind getting wet if you don’t, and if your kids are up for it we’re on to a winner. We love the beach no matter the weather and it’s easy to see why.
We have more Downhill beach sessions coming up on Sunday 16th (morning) and Saturday 29th (evening). At only £40 for each 20 minute session we think they’re an absolute steal.

St Columb’s Park mini sessions
Saturday 15th August
Morning + evening slots available!
£40 per 20 minute session

Our family mini sessions are a perfect opportunity to grab some beautiful family pictures in a relaxed, no pressure environment and they’re great for young families!
As a busy dad to 2 kids under 7 I understand how tight time can be, and how the kids sometimes don’t have the longest of attention spans.
We’ve found 20 minutes to be just long enough that the kids don’t lose interest, but long enough that we can get a great variety of all the shots you’ll cherish of your loved ones.
Each 20 minute session is just £40 and includes 4 hand edited, high resolution digital images to download and keep with the option of upgrading to the full gallery for an additional £40.
We have sessions available in both the morning and the evening to help work around children’s bedtimes, so hopefully they’ll suit a lot of you guys.

THE PHOTOS ARE ABOUT THE DAY, THE DAY ISN’T ABOUT THE PHOTOS!
I wrote that in caps because it deserves to be shouted.
We’ve all heard the stories about photographers who dictate the day because of THEIR timeline. THEY need a particular shot. THEY have an idea you just have to nip away from your guests for.
Well guess what…it’s YOUR timeline for YOUR wedding celebration. You aren’t there to become an ‘Instagram banger’ on someone else’s grid to help them farm ‘Likes’ and bring in new business.
We all want to produce amazing work that people love, the likes and comments are sweet, but we’re here to serve you and help make your day as smooth and painless as possible. So while we do our job it should impact you as little as possible, we’re there to document (and at time guide things) but not to drive the day in a particular self serving direction.
If you’ve heard a photographer has been a Prima Donna before, they could be again. Take it as a red flag.
It’s not hard to be sound and put your ego aside for the betterment of the day.

St Columb’s Park Family Mini Sessions
Sat 15th August

On Saturday 15th of August we’ll be back in St Columb’s Park photographing some beautiful family sessions and we’d love to see you there.

Our mini sessions are 20 minutes long, which is just long enough to get all those gorgeous shots you’ll love, without young kids loosing interest. We specialise in young families, and as a dad of 2 kids under 7 I know how stressful the thought of organising a family photo shoot can be so let us guide you through the process and take the pressure off you.

Your kids don’t have to be on their best behaviour, they don’t have to sit and smile if they don’t want to, and they can be themselves.

We try to incorporate movement and play in our sessions, so expect to be moving around with a mix of traditional poses with some more playful prompts. Nothing too serious, just genuine interactions.

First some back story…we had our little boy via IVF and we had 2 embryos frozen still. We tried implanting them but it didn’t work out so we brought the date of our wedding forward from loosely being planned for 2023 into 2022.
We had 12 weeks exactly to get our s**t together and pull and get all our venues and vendors sorted 😬
There’s 2 main things you need which are non-negotiables.
First is somewhere to get married, and second is someone to marry you.
Forget the photographer, forget the music, even forget the dress! You need those first 2 as a bare minimum.
We knew from day 1 we wanted for our venue, so they were first on our list to lock in. The girls there were amazing and we were able to get a date in our window. They took care of a lot of the logistics and Suzanne stayed there the night before. I’d shot weddings there before so knew we were in good hands.
Then we had to find someone to make us legal and came to our rescue, she’s a humanist celebrant and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer, calmer presence to have with us.
Then you can focus on the fun bits…the photos, the flowers, the music, and of course…the dress!
We pulled favours with friends, used all local suppliers and vendors, and had the perfect day.
Aoife at produced the most beautiful flowers and I think from memory she squeezed us in on top of a full diary.
My friend Christy from was on photo duty.
Suzanne found the perfect dress at and Leanne was amazing help.
was the only choice for make up and by some miracle was able to fit us in 🙌

So it’s definitely doable, you just have to have a game plan and be a little flexible (particularly on the venue) the rest can fall in around that.

Beach memories that will last a lifetime!
The Thompson family got the memo and nailed it in style. This was actually part of a double family session with both sisters and their families so there’s a lot to unpack and share from it, but this was so much fun to shoot and bigger groups bring a different energy…especially for the kids 😂
Suzanne is a baker, and the box of buns she brought over at the end of the session was totally unexpected but they were some of the nicest I’ve ever eaten and my kids agreed 👌

Having a drink on your wedding day in the same bar you met, with your very nearest and dearest…you can’t really put a price on that can you!
That old Chesterfield sofa caught my eye as soon as I saw it, then I was told it was probably the same one Hannah and Michael were sitting on the night they got together.
That aul thing probably has some stories to tell 👀
