We recently went to visit a new wedding venue we are working at in August.

The beautiful Chicheley Hall near Newport Pagnell, wow what a venue

Driving up the tree lined drive you can glimpse the Manor and then it the road opens up to reveal all and what a beautiful building it is, it has its own Church in the extensive grounds and various outbuildings. The inside is just as beautiful and apparently boasts a witch’s staircase, built to stop witches entering the building - you learn something new every day
We really are very lucky to be able to work in some great venues and we’re really looking forward to going again in August

While we’re busy photographing weddings, we’re also preparing to meet new couples by booking in three new wedding fairs
These are all run by the fabulous Jackie and Joanne at Berkshire wedding fairs, are free to enter and are great ways to meet lots of friendly suppliers

What a great day of fun and laughter at Jackie and Marc’s wedding, it started with a trip down memory lane as they got ready just 50 yrds from my childhood home and school Then off to the beautiful Sefton Barn in Speen, a rest home for horses, a wonderful old barn with amazing beams and loads of light for the photos. The groups and couple shots were taken with the rolling hills of the Chilterns in the background plus a few horses
Then back to Tylers Green to the Old Queen’s head – another old haunt of mine. The garden was perfect for lots of candid shots of the guests enjoying themselves and the pub itself was decorated with fairy lights to create a romantic atmosphere for the wedding breakfast and speeches
It was great to meet such friendly guests who made us feel part of wedding party

We visited the beautiful Sefton's Barn at the Horse's trust last week to check out the latest wedding venue - last time I was there was to photography Princess Anne a fair few years ago. What a beautiful barn it is plus the rolling Chiltern Hills as a background We're so looking forward to working there very soon

Friday’s Five top tips - For the Groom’s

1 Don’t get a haircut just before the wedding, especially in summer. If you’re tanned, you can have an obvious white line where the hair used to be
2 Practise putting on your tie, especially of you haven’t worn one since your school years
3 Again practise putting in your cufflinks or ask a groomsman to help. They can be a bit tricky when you’re feeling nervous
4. Speeches – have a paper copy to hand in case your phone battery dies and to be honest – it looks better in the photos
5. Get to your venue early, time goes quickly saying hello to your guests, talking to the registrar/ vicar, having your photo’s taken etc
The main thing is enjoy your day and I hope these tips have been useful

Wednesday’s wedding venue
This week I’m highlighting Awberry Farm in Beenham – situated between Reading and Newbury.

We visited this venue last October for a wedding fair. It’s a fairly new venue and I have a feeling it’s going to be a popular one.

It’s mainly based in a converted barn with a beautiful, beamed ceiling it has a relaxed feel to it. There are sofa’s dotted around and bookcases full of books.

There is a beautiful outside ceremony area -it looked fab on a cold Oct morning so I can only imagine how amazing it will look in Spring/Summer with a view that goes on for miles

There are also getting ready areas and which I didn’t get chance to view so I’m hoping I’ll be working there very soon to check them out and update you.

I’d forgotten all about the celebrations Datchet put on for the Queen’s 90th birthday until a Facebook memory popped up this morning
We went down to the village to photograph the celebrations just as all the traffic was stopped to let the Royal party through to get Windsor Castle, if you look carefully you can see Prince Harry at the back of the Range Rover - Kate and William were also in the back
The evening’s entertainment comprised of many things including the lighting of the beacon and a couple of amazing fire eaters - good times

What a great day we had at Katie and Ricky's wedding, it was relaxed and fun and held at the Oakley Hall Hotel in Basingstoke, a new venue for us. The daffodils were still out making a beautiful backdrop for the couple shots and the sun shone all day. I hope you enjoy a few teaser photos
