Almost jacket season, but which jacket? Love the 50s type 2 from tcb, has been my go to over the summer (what summer!??) and works with everything. Then I got stuck in a jacket choice loop as I’d unpacked my BLA E17 chore, which is also very cool and deff works with tcb’s 50s jeans. Is also time to start wearing my MIE DM’s - love these shoes. Very happy to wear either jacket with my new two ears brand bandana - very cool.

It’s probably going to be really warm now as the kids have gone back to school hahah

Sarah has become obsessed with sashiko and boro after I got her a book on it and relentlessly showed her pics of cool patched jeans. She’s a very competent seamstress anyway, but I was very excited she was embracing my love (obsession) of all things denim and worn - and she was also very excited to find a new form of artistic expression. She wanted to do a project to explore and experiment with different techniques and decided to source a bag and use that as her start point and create a sashiko ‘sampler’. Some of the work is based on traditional techniques, some is freehand but inspired by classic Japanese styles. I’d donated a bunch of denim to her for up-cycling and she used elements on this project - including a hickory dungaree dress that doesn’t fit the Sprout anymore and a shirt I wore the day she was born. Love the final piece. Told her she needs to start working on custom pieces. Enjoy :)

Sarah has just finished her awesome sashiko bag, before I post images of that wanted to share these. Was so impressed with her work wanted a bit of personalisation on my 50s jeans and jacket. Can obviously see my handiwork with the date ( ). Reminded me of edelweiss in the alps.
