The heat is relentless, the smoke filled air thick and heavy. Really does feel a bit like South East Wales is burning, though I know we are not alone in dealing with the many wildfires currently ongoing... what an effort the Fire and Rescue service are doing in trying to protect communities across the area and the country as a whole, in full fire fighting kit in extremely hot conditions... I, for one applaud you all... of course, there are many supporting people who are providing help and support to the services... my love of nature is strong so I am also concerned about the impact this ongoing issue is having across our varied wildlife and the long term effects it will have... Saving lives always has to be the number 1 priority, but we cannot forget the impact this is having on nature too... Never has the hope for rain been so great here, in a country that is not used to these prolonged hot dry spells.... if only to bring relief to the Firefighters, their families, the general public and to nature and wildlife as a whole... here's a few images of the Butterflies I have been seeing over the past few weeks...

A selection of images of birds that I have recently processed after going through my 1000's of raw files that really needed sorting (i.e. removing the many images that do-not meet the standard and which were taking up way too much space on the hard drives)...

Nature has such a wonderful way of uplifting the soul, whether it be just taking a stroll in the countryside or along the coast or looking to get closer to nature through watching and photographing wildlife, it has the ability to put any worries or stresses to one side and let you feel so much better in yourself... here is a small number of the images I have captured over the past year or so...
