Reportage image of the happy couple walking back to the woods. The New Forest was formerly known as Ytene in as the Jutes took possession of the land in 4th century. Much of the woodland was chopped down for the Royal Navy shipbuilding in the 18th century. Lord Nelson’s flagship, HMS Victory being one of them. Around 4,000 trees were lost in a storm in 1703. It’s still a beautiful place!
