Dadda cuddles. Proud dad Shane with his (almost) newborn baby daughter.

It's a huge honour to photograph children in the first few weeks of their lives, knowing that this is such a fleeting moment and feeling the pressure of capturing images that the family will love and treasure forever.

I took these shots during a distanced shoot at their home. My EF 135mm f2L allowed me to stand in their garden and photograph baby and parents inside their living room, with natural light streaming through their French windows. The white panelled cabinet behind them was an excellent backdrop!

I’ve been taking photos for many years now and I have captured beautiful images and memories of my family and friends. For a long time I have wanted to venture out as a professional family photographer, and create the same kind of images for as many families as I can, for them to treasure for a lifetime. I took the first steps towards this a couple of months ago by starting Treasurebox Photography and have already done dozens of socially distanced shoots since.

Today marks another big step for me as a photographer, as my website has now gone live!

A massive thank you to Dale Ferrier who put in a huge effort to build the website. Dale is a close friend and a web developer, and for years we would say one day I will venture out as a photographer and he will build me a cracking website…after all that talk we have finally done it! Thank you!

Another massive thank you to maestro, Ed Pereira, the best wedding photographer around and my mentor who has guided me from the time I started taking photography seriously, and did my own wedding photos! I wouldn’t have made it to this point without you.

For anyone who would like a relaxed photo shoot and beautiful pictures of you and your loved ones, I am ready and at your service!

This is a self portrait from when my daughter was a newborn. This was our ritual every two-three hours. Cuddling my baby girl and letting her fall asleep on me is one of the best things I have ever experienced in life. Yes I was knackered and irritable most of the time but I always enjoyed this part of the process. These moments are fleeting. She is now a toddler and this is now only in my memories. .
