Let's breathe some life into the dull original of two seals playing 🦭

I got this picture in blue hour just before the sun came up, so naturally, it was a bit dull and lifeless.

I shot at 600mm with an ISO of 1600. The shutter was 1/1000 sec @ f / 8.0

My intention for this edit was brightening up the photo, cleaning up the noise, and adding some layers to bring more focus to the main characters 🦭🙂

I was already quite happy with the colours, so I didn't touch them, and I also left the vibrance slider alone for once!! 💀 haha

Overall, I was very pleased with how this turned out with minimal adjustments 🙌

I spent most of the day slowly following this bird along the river 🕊

I was trying not to spook her while waiting for the right moment. Wildlife photography is a lot of patience and being very still, which can be hard to achieve when you really need the toilet! 😂

She definitely knew I was there and disappeared a few times, but eventually I managed to get into a decent position before she came back down for lunch 🐟

A bit of luck, a lot of persistence, and some beautiful light later meant I got to watch as she pulled a fish right out the river!

Moments like these are why the waiting is always worth it! My favourite photo is the 9th slide, what's yours?

Scotland’s diverse landscapes provide the perfect canvas for a photography adventure. From the rugged Highlands to the tranquil lochs, every corner offers something new to capture.

Whether it’s the winding roads through the Cairngorms, the mist rolling over the Isle of Skye, or the historic charm of old buildings, Scotland is a photographer’s dream.

The natural beauty is complemented by the country’s rich history, with castles and ancient ruins offering a glimpse into the past. Each shot tells a story. One of dramatic skies, wild coastlines, and vibrant culture.

The ever-changing weather adds an unpredictable element, so you just never know what you are going to get. I like that.

Sometimes, I miss the east coast of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The seals hauled out on quiet shores, and the birds surfing the wind like they've always known where they're going.

The light, the smells, and the wildlife that inhabits the coastline 🌊

They are all a part of what keeps me going back north.

Some landscapes don't just stay with you. They keep you coming back.
