It's the 1st of September and I think I’m finally coming up for air! 😂

This has officially been my busiest wedding season EVER, and what a season it’s been. There have been so many beautiful weddings, incredible couples, ridiculous amounts of editing, emails, galleries, admin, and all the other trials and tribulations that come with running a very busy photography business!

And now, just as I start to catch my breath… school photography season is about to begin! 🤣

So, before I dive headfirst into that, I wanted to take a little moment to say thank you to everyone who has been so incredibly patient waiting for a response from me over the last few months. I know there are emails, messages and jobs that have taken me far longer to get back to than I would have liked, and I really do appreciate your patience and understanding. ❤️

I also made a conscious decision over the summer holidays to step away from the computer when I could and actually spend some proper time with my family. It’s so easy when you're self-employed to convince yourself that you must keep working… but sometimes the emails can wait and the family time can't. ❤️

Now I’m looking forward to getting stuck into all those things that have been sitting patiently on my to-do list, catching up with everyone, getting everything back under control… and finally launching my brand new website! 🎉

And amongst all the craziness, there was a lovely little bit of news last week…

🏆 I received another SIX Bronze Awards from the The Guild Of Photographers 🏆

These the images of Rebecca and Alex at Parley Manor that were awarded. There’s something really satisfying about having your work judged and recognised by other photographers whose opinions you respect.

But… I'm not stopping at Bronze! 😉

I’m still chasing that Silver… and maybe, just maybe, there’s a Gold in there somewhere too! 🥈🥇

So here's to the next chapter. Catching up, getting organised, creating some exciting new things, photographing LOTS of schoolchildren… and hopefully a few more shiny awards along the way!

Yesterday was one of those wedding days that reminds me exactly why I love what I do. 🤍

Olivia & Huw got married at beautiful Haselbury Mill surrounded by family and friends who had travelled from all over the world to be there.

It rained all morning, but somehow the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Just as the ceremony began, the rain stopped — giving us the most wonderful little window to get outside for confetti, group photographs and some time with the two of them. And then, as evening fell, we headed out once more for some truly magical photographs beneath the lights. ✨

There were also the quieter, more poignant details woven throughout the day. Olivia’s dad sadly passed away when she was just eight, but he was very much part of her wedding day. A photograph of him holding Olivia as a baby was tucked secretly into her bouquet, his initials were stitched into her veil, she carried her parent's wedding rings tied together with blue ribbon, and Olivia was given away by her mum. The kind of details that may go unnoticed by many, but mean absolutely everything. 🤍

Inside, the ceremony was beautifully romantic, lit by rows of cathedral candles and filled with the most gorgeous florals by Julia Moore Floral Designs Every detail felt considered, personal and completely *them*.

And then there was the dancing… 🪩🥂

A day full of love, laughter, happy tears, champagne, confetti and one very good-looking couple.

Olivia & Huw - thank you for trusting me to tell the story of your wedding day. It was an absolute joy to be there. ❤️

Here’s just a little glimpse of yesterday…

Yesterday, in a beautiful and very emotional ceremony, Sharna and Charlie gave me the honour of capturing a snippet of their day as they got married at Crowcombe Court.

With just close family and friends attending and much of the wedding decorations sourced by the couple and then put together beautifully by Ellie at Crowcombe Court, they celebrated their love with Pamela from Clear Day Weddings presiding over their heartfelt vows.

We captured some group and couple shots before they went on to enjoy a meal and speeches shared in the privacy of their close group of guests.

Yesterday, Mhairi and Stefan said “I do” at the beautiful Webbington Hotel and Spa — and what a day it was! 🤍✨

From the gorgeous sunshine and stunning Somerset views, to confetti, laughter, champagne showers and some seriously gorgeous golden-hour light, their wedding was full of personality, love and plenty of fun.

And one of my favourite parts? Seeing their beautiful daughter Bonnie take centre stage as one of their bridesmaids. 💕 She looked absolutely adorable and was such a special part of their day.

Mhairi and Stefan, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding. It was an absolute joy to be there ❤️ 🥂✨

Some wedding days are just full of moments that stay with you… and Mike and Louise’s wedding yesterday was definitely one of them. ❤️

Yesterday was HOT. And I mean really hot! It felt more like the Sahara than Somerset! ☀️🥵 The grandparents were sensibly seeking out every patch of shade they could find and, when the heat became too much, the wonderful team at Pennard House took the guests from the patio into the air-conditioned Coach House for the drinks reception. Sometimes you just have to admit defeat to the weather!

But that incredible sunshine did give us the most beautiful evening light, and I certainly wasn’t complaining when it came time to take Mike and Louise out for some photographs. ✨

There were plenty of emotional moments throughout the day, but one completely caught me off guard. Mike had a very special gift for Louise - a beautiful pencil drawing of the photograph I took of them at their engagement shoot, which they had used on their signing board.

Watching Louise open it was emotional enough… then I saw the drawing, realised exactly what it was, and promptly found myself crying behind my camera. 🥹❤️

Then came the speeches… when Mike and Louise announced that they have another very special reason to celebrate.

They’re expecting a baby! 👶🏻❤️

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room - and what a wonderful secret for everyone to discover on their wedding day.

From the heat, the happy tears and the laughter, to the confetti, the gorgeous gardens and that golden sunset… yesterday was a truly unforgettable celebration of two people who are about to begin an even bigger adventure together.

Congratulations, Mike and Louise. It was an absolute privilege to be there to capture it all. ❤️

☀️ From one sunny day to another… ☀️

Back in March, I met Tom and Abi for their engagement shoot on a gloriously sunny day. Yesterday, they somehow managed to order the sunshine all over again for their wedding day at the beautiful Crowcombe Court 💍✨

And what a day it was.

From the moment I arrived, it was obvious this was going to be something really special. Abi looked incredible in her stunning dress, surrounded by the most beautiful, colourful flowers courtesy of Artificial hannah, while Tom looked rather dashing with a beautiful piece of embroidery carefully sewn under his shirt collar by his bride 🌸

There were happy tears, huge smiles, plenty of laughter, emotional entrances, and wonderful family moments ❤️

And then there was the mini golf… because apparently no wedding is complete without a little competitive spirit! ⛳😂

I absolutely loved watching these two become husband and wife, surrounded by the people they love most. Their ceremony was filled with colour and joy, their reception was every bit as beautiful as the setting, and that golden evening light gave us the most magical opportunity to sneak away for some photographs before the day came to an end when they celebrated with a well-rehearsed first dance and fabulous sax player on the dancefloor.

Tom and Abi, thank you for trusting me to tell the story of your wedding day. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you both, from that first sunny day in March to this one.
