🩷 Every business is different. That's what I love about my job! One minute I'll be working with a ceramics artist in a beautiful studio and the next I'll be in a roof garden of a solicitors office. There's been office dogs, cats and even a photobombing horse this year.

I work with each client to capture the essence of their business, wherever they work.

If you'd like a set of images to represent the heart of your business, then give me a ring and we can get planning.

☀️ Summer holidays are here! ☀️

Whether you're jetting off abroad, exploring somewhere new in the UK or simply making memories in the garden, this is the season you'll want to remember.
As a photographer, I've learnt that the best photos aren't usually the perfectly posed ones. They're the laughs, the adventures, the messy moments and the little in-between memories that tell the real story. ❤️

Here are my six favourite tips for taking better photos this summer:

📸 1. Find the good light
Early morning or just before sunset gives you beautiful, soft light. If you can, avoid the harsh midday sun.

🤳 2. Get in the photo too
Hand your phone to someone else every now and then. Your family will treasure photos with you in them.

💛 3. Capture the moments between the poses
Children collecting shells, ice cream-covered smiles, grandparents holding tiny hands, spontaneous laughter... these are often the photos you'll love the most.

✨ 4. Clean your camera lens
A quick wipe can make a huge difference. It's the easiest photography tip you'll ever use!

👧 5. Get down to their level
When photographing children, crouch down to their eye level for more natural, engaging images.

🌿 6. Forget perfection
Messy hair, sandy feet, muddy knees and melting ice creams are all part of the story. Years from now, those little imperfections will be your favourite memories.

Most importantly... don't spend the whole holiday behind the camera. Take a few meaningful photos, then put the phone away and enjoy making the memories.

I'd love to see your favourite summer photo! 📷 Share it in the comments below or tag me in your posts so I can see what you've been up to.

Have an amazing summer! ☀️

🫣 "I'm not photogenic."

If I had a pound for every time someone said that to me before a photoshoot, I'd have quite an impressive holiday fund.

The funny thing is, I've photographed hundreds of people over the years, and I've yet to meet someone who is genuinely "unphotogenic".

What I have met are people who are uncomfortable.

People who haven't been professionally photographed before.

People who feel self-conscious.

People who think everyone else knows how to stand naturally in front of a camera.

Here's the secret: they don't.

A successful business photoshoot isn't about expecting you to know how to pose. It's about creating an environment where you can stop thinking about the camera altogether.

That means having a conversation rather than barking instructions.

Giving gentle guidance instead of expecting you to magically know what to do with your hands.

Finding the light, the angles and the expressions that feel natural to you.

Because the best business photographs don't just show what you look like.
They communicate confidence.

Approachability.

Professionalism.

Most importantly, they show the person your clients are going to work with.

One of my favourite moments is showing someone the back of the camera halfway through a session. Almost every time, I hear the same response:
"Oh... that's actually ok!"

Yes, it is.

Just relaxed, confident and authentically you.

My job is about helping people see themselves the way everyone else already does.

Have you ever caught yourself saying, "I'm not photogenic"?

📸 Behind every great business photo is a strategy.

One of the biggest misconceptions about professional photography is that it's simply about getting a flattering picture.

In reality, it's about communicating who you are before you've said a single word.

Your photographs should answer questions your potential clients are already asking:
✨ Can I trust you?
✨ Are you professional?
✨ What does it feel like to work with you?
✨ Do your values align with mine?

That's why I spend time getting to know my clients before I ever pick up my camera. We talk about their business, their ideal clients, how they want to be perceived and where their images will be used.

All clients will come away from a shoot with much more than just a headshot. They will have a collection of images they can confidently use across their website, LinkedIn profile, presentations and social media, creating a much more consistent and professional brand.

That's the difference between taking photographs and creating images with purpose.

Every photograph you share is telling part of your story. Is it telling the right one?

Do your images reflect where your business is today?
