Are we ready 2024!!

I feel the need to post about that hideous image that is making the rounds 😬 so the facts are that the image circulated is something that was created for an advertising campaign last year, and has found its way into mainstream media as a way of causing further tension. Whilst it definitely makes a point. If your going to use an image then make it a bloody good one displaying just how s**t hot dancers really are!! 🙌 and I also know that dancers are amazingly adaptable and will work in whatever capacity and continue to train so that they are ready to perform again when they get the green light.

Artistic livelihoods have taken a hit, but we are creative people full of optimism and determination so to all my fellow artists don’t give up, and use that passion to fuel your artistry even further.

So I've not been been keeping you guys very updated on whats happening in the world of Nicola Selby Dance, so huge apologises for that. I'm still taking lots of dance photo's but Ive been working with dance companies, television and advertising agencies on different campaigns etc and other large commercial jobs. As well as that in September I set up a flower shop near my home www.bramblesandheather.com which has kept me a little quite too :) Mixing photography and flowers is really giving me a push to work on my own creative projects again. I still get asked by individual dancers about portfolios etc, the honest answer is that there are currently very limited studios in the Northwest that either offer the space or are financially viable. I am happy to do location portfolio shoots, but maybe wait for it to warm up!
