This is what the judges were saying: "it's beautifully executed photograph, i just love the colours and the expression, i'm just drawn and drawn into the picture, i love the colour of the hair, the colour of the background, the colour of the dress, the flowers, i really like the picture; i love the aesthetics of this image, the expression is wonderful, the colour of the hair is beautiful; it is a beautiful image, lighting is gorgeous, well done to the author; i think we are getting to recognise the style now which is actually a compliment, because when the author presents us with the pictures, we know where this is from, we are getting a feel for it now for a number of reasons, it's a really nice feel and a really nice story telling; it's a very captivating picture, great photographer."

This is what the judges were saying: "what it's great about this image - it's a colour palette, it tells a story of a sad poor poor kid, composition is great, i like the editing, the lighting on her face is really good, it honestly struck me, it's an emotion that struck me; it's a beautiful expression, lighting is lovely, beautifully handled and beautiful tones; you are a great photographer, the emotional feel you get from this image is just brilliant and the styling are great; the emotional feel of the picture and the composition, everything along those lines is very good indeed; it's a beautiful and very emotional image, even the window, it is sort of leading line pointing to her, the reflection is there - it's beautiful image, you are an extremely talented photographer."

This is what the judges were saying: "this image is stunning, it would sit in any gallery; the detail in the fabrics, the detail in the hair, the detail in the face, the expression, the hand position is beautiful, the chair is handled well, it doesn't distract, tonally it's a beautiful beautiful image - i think the author really really needs rewarding on this image; it's a lovely renaissance feeling in it about it's colour tone, even the cropping is good, the chair is perfect for the vintage that the author is trying to create, very stylistic; i absolutely love this picture, it's a fantastic shot, i absolutely love the girls expression and colour of the hair has been captured beautifully, there's great range of detail in the shot, i like the lighting, pose, expression ,it's very classy shot, great great image, very well done; when i first saw this image the first thing which came to my mind was "Mona Lisa" for the same sort of look, the same style; we've seen so many images, but for me this one stands out, the effort from the author is phenomenal."
