Trigger warning: Mental Health/suicide

“Light in the Dark”

This isn’t just a photo. This is a lived experience, a feeling, a reality. My reality, on the edge. Odd dog is so much more than a dog. He’s a saviour. He’s a shoulder to cry on, a comfort, support, a reason to get up in the morning, to keep going, to not step over the edge. He has saved my life so many times without even knowing it. He is my light in the dark.

This is the start of what I plan to be a collection of images that showcase our four legged friends as what they truly are…Heroes. But also, this is my story and the beginning of my journey to healing.

This took me a while to edit as it holds a lot of emotion and I wanted it to be right but it’s part of the process.

To those that this may resonate with, you’re not alone, you’re loved and you’re worthy.

To those that remain by my side, thank you. I’m so incredibly grateful.

An extra thank you to Jo Jo for not only being one of the fore-mentioned individuals but for listening to my idea and taking the photo of us on my behalf.
