By the water.
———————
It’s good to be back, it’s been a while and I do feel like I have my buzz back again.
I’m going to spending more time around the Forest for the coming months, and I’ll be working on a little project called ‘A year in the Forest’
A year in the Forest is, well pretty much as it sounds.
Capturing the woodlands, heathland, wildlife, and coastlines of this beautiful place as it changes throughout the seasons.
There will be some early mornings, late nights, and a new page dedicated to this. I also have a few ideas about a gallery and a book, but if you know me, I can’t guarantee all that 😂

So this is one from the beautiful Keyhaven, a scene that I have shot before, but one of my favourite places.

The Wild Wood.

Back out in the Forest for the first time in what seems like forever.
I’ve been trying to work out where my photography is going and I’ve struggled to find any motivation to pick up a camera.
Something made me head out today, maybe the weather or maybe my need to see if I can find my motivation again.
I think it’s coming back, and I think I know where my photography is going. So let’s wait and see.

I should have gotten up earlier today and explored the woodlands of the New Forest in peace, but I decided to head out late morning when it was a little chaotic, despite the packed car parks, I did find a little bit of peace near Knightwood, and even with the harsh light, I did manage a image that I quite liked.
Next weekend I’m going to be out early and hopefully get that morning light that I have been craving.

The Bloom.

A few hours in the Forest is always magical.
Hawkhill is one of my favourite spots around here, and I’m getting to know fairly well.
The woodland feels ancient, and you can really feel how it must have been before we showed up with our cars and technology.
