Not been able to get far the last 4 weeks, car trouble, so its been out and about in walking distance, wildlife close to home, my rescue dog, the hooligan that is Maple, some horses from the yard, mine being the bay, who has recently developed Cushings, so only has an hour, two at the most out at grass. A couple of photos from the last time my car made it to a race course, hopefully going car shopping in the next week or so, then I have 4 yards to visit, cant wait.

An evening at the races, lovely weather but a delay caused the light to be a bit dim by the last 2 races so not the best photos. My favourite horse Clean Getaway was there and a 3rd 🥰 then an announcement that Charlotte Jones was retiring but going out on a winner, also having a 2nd, 2 x 3rds and a 4th, well done girl. A horse with amazing action, hope when he has his last race, eventing should be his next direction.

A lovely day for a trip over to Yorkshire, been waiting for a certain foal, but decided the weather was too nice to wast...

Day 3 Grand National Day
Not only is there a famous race on but also another 6 races, so here are some of the horses also running on Saturday, glad I took today off work, taken all day sorting out photos, not had time to name the horses, sorry. And not having much time only put a few from each race.
You might notice we had all 4 seasons in 5 hours, couldnt belive the hail storm during race 3.

Grand National Day 2026

Got almost every horse.
What a horse I Am Maximus is, definitely a race for him, seems to be full of running at the end when others are starting to feel the distance, well done to JP McManus 3 in the top 4, this time not all Irish trained, a fantastic run for Iroko, going 2 better than last year and just trained down the road, well next county but near enough.

Update, missed a horse out, so added at the end.

After speaking with Shark on the Thursday, I said Id get him a few photos of the peoples favourite, Hewick, so as promised here are a few of them, lovely to see Paddy getting the ride, just wasnt his day but going home safe and sound is a better win. Love this little man and after speaking with his owners at Wetherby, he has a great bunch of lads around him.

Day 1 Aintree
Taken awhile to sort, but watching day 2 grabbed my chance. Some stunning horses, highs and lows for N.H an unseated then next one a winner, what a horse Jango Baie is.
As for the foxhunter, Barton Snow winning, couldnt believe how small he is, but the heart of a lion.
Wonderful day, apart from the weather.
