Lady sitting at cafe table. I wandered a long way yesterday with my camera. I rarely come to Lambeth, but each time that I do, I love the view of The Houses of Parliament from here. Rather than take a straight shot of it, as I walked past this little riverside cafe, I thought the lady sat there would make the photo more interesting. So I took one.

Running man. I took this some time ago as I wandered along Shad Thames in London. One of my favourite places and on this occasion it was even more beautiful with the gorgeous sunlight pouring down the street. Needless to say, there were joggers around (you’re never more than five feet from a jogger in London) and I thought having one of them running down the street would make the shot. Well, I stood there and each one ran past but stayed in the shadows. Hopeless. Eventually, I actually stopped this jogger as he approached me and asked him to run down the centre of the street in the sunlight and there was the shot. So if you ever need a jogger in your photo, just ask.

A moment in time. I took this at a recent wedding. All of the guests went from the wedding ceremony on an old London Routemaster bus, across town to the reception. The bride and groom sat on the top deck at the front (where else would you sit on your special day?) and although the bus was packed with people having a wonderful time, I loved this beautiful moment between the bride and her son. It’s these moments in time that make everything perfect.

As my gorgeous loyal followers will know, this is one of my favourite locations in London and today as I stroll to the pub, I’m spoilt with a different car that’s appeared in the street of Citroens. Did you know that Rolls Royce used Citroen suspension in some of their cars as it was so good at smoothing out the bumps. See, I’m here to educate you all. It’s an uphill task, but I shall try.

I photographed this lady for my regular client in Chelsea. Each person who works there has their headshot taken by me for their meet the team website page. When this lady walked in she told me, as everyone I photograph tells me, that she hates having her photograph taken, never smiles and always hates the photos. Well, within two minutes, she was laughing, smiling and loved the photos.

And as I sit here at my breakfast table drinking my coffee, having just cooked and eaten the most delicious breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled egg, topped with black, Anglesey sea salt, presented on oatcakes, I’m looking through the wedding photos I took recently and this one stands out to me. A beautiful moment as the young son of the bride and groom stands with the bridesmaid waiting for his Mum to appear in her wedding dress. Such a lovely moment.

I’ll tell you what is beautiful: nature. The underside of a palm leaf in the glasshouse in Kew Gardens yesterday. When I’m carrying a camera with me I notice things more. I stop and look. It’s good for taking photos and for the soul.

From my wander around Kew Gardens yesterday. Sunshine, rain and the most gorgeous cloud formations. I took this photo of one of the stunning glasshouses with my Fujifilm XPro3 and deliberately kept the lens flare in as I thought it added to the picture.
