Took this portrait some time ago, but still think it works. This gentleman is a barber at a men’s grooming salon in London. I was asked to photograph all of the people here and needless to say, I wanted to capture portraits that were slightly different from the usual.

I shall call this photo ‘A study in yellow’. From a photoshoot some time ago with this lady on the Southbank in London. Several outfit changes, but when she wore this yellow dress, I knew exactly where we needed to do the shots.

Supertanker vs storm clouds. Everything is relative as someone clever once said and although the ship in my photograph is enormous, it is but a spec compared to the storm clouds above it.

I quite like this photo. I was photographing this lady to get her new headshots for her website, when she got a mirror out to retouch her makeup. As she lifted it up to her face, there I was in the mirror photographing her.

Another live gig photo that I took at Dingwall’s in Camden, London and one of my favourite shots of this type. This band were very fast moving and this lead singer was fantastic, with more energy than I’ve ever seen. As he whirled around the stage I had my work cut out to capture him in a frame.

Most of my work is either headshots, portraits or events. The events are many and varied, but one type of event I absolutely love photographing, is live gigs. You never know what’s coming next and only have that split second to get the shot. This one is from a shoot at Dingwall’s in Camden, London.

One thing I really love about photographing weddings, is capturing the candid moments. The off guard moments where everyone is being themselves. Relaxing and loving the day. I took this recently at a wedding in Islington Town Hall, just after the ceremony where the bride and groom enjoy one of those wonderful moments with the best man.

Another little reminder of what I do that pays for my b**r. From a recent wedding on the outskirts of London at beautiful Horsenden Farm. After the ceremony with 120 guests, I took the couple away for a few moments for them to relax and enjoy the wonderful moment together by themselves (well, apart from me). Couples love that time to relax and wind down from the months of build up to their big day. Always a special time to witness and photograph. Then it’s back to the guests to party.

And having climbed to the top of the town, walking past the castle, whose walls can be glimpsed to the left of my photo, I wandered down this alleyway in Rye and if I’m not very much mistaken, that appears to be a pub. I feel that a pint here is in order as a reward for my walk.
