PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Canine comfort and dignity are always our top priorities. How else could we capture the essence and light of your hound? Our studio is located in the depths of the Wiltshire countryside - the perfect environment to keep your dog happy and relaxed. Patience is the key, and sessions can last up to two and a half hours. Prints
Within 5 working days of the session, we’ll provide you
with a shortlist of a minimum of 30 images in a personalised online gallery. You choose 2 images for printing which are included in the session fee.
Prints are available in colour or black and white and you can order them in any size up to 80cm x 100cm with a 5cm border for framing. We use the best quality fine art paper, Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta. Its delicate surface texture, in combination with archival pigment inks, produces stunning print results. The reproduction of colour and detail is outstanding and prints have a beautiful, elegant sheen, without glare. The paper also meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance. We work with acclaimed master printer John Herlinger, of the Fine Art Print Room to bring your chosen images alive. Your prints will be carefully packaged in archival tissue paper, rolled in a tube and delivered to you by courier along with signed and numbered certificates of authenticity. We strongly recommend that you have a professional framer unpackage your prints at the time of framing to minimise the risk of damage to your exquisite pieces of art. Total cost for the session and the 2 prints is £500. Further prints from your shortlist can be purchased for an additional £200 each. Booking
Use the form on our contact page or email us at [email protected] to express your interest and we'll get back to you so we can talk through the details. If you prefer to call, please contact Naomi on 07727 124097. We request a deposit of £150 to secure your booking and the balance of £350 is due on the day of the session. OUR STORY
This project has grown out of our own experiences of the undeniable, magical, some-might-say almost spiritual bond that exists between humans and their hounds. We have a desire to faithfully represent that bond through fine art photography and our work is an homage to, and recognition of, the light that dogs bring into our lives. We’ve been inspired by two canines in particular; Blythe, our adored collie to whom we said goodbye after nearly 17 years in March 2022 and Swift, our lovely, lively new addition pictured on the homepage. Their portraits adorn far more of our home than some would consider truly tasteful, according to Claire anyway! Claire Newman-Williams
I’ve spent the last 30 years as an editorial portrait and fine art photographer both in the US and the UK. My work has appeared in numerous national and international publications including Time Magazine, The New York Times and The Advocate.
As one of the UK's leading headshot photographers I have an extensive body of work photographing actors. My fine art work has been exhibited at the London Art Fair and Miami Context with Turner Barnes Gallery and I also exhibit in the US at the Artemizia Foundation.
But all this was simply training for taking photographs of our puppy Swift. A lot of photos! After being asked by pretty much everyone who saw the pictures why I didn’t photograph dogs, I started to wonder, "Why don’t I photograph dogs?". Well, now I do. Naomi Seager
After working as a full-time yoga teacher for the last two decades, I’m delighted to now be working as Claire’s assistant! I studied photography at college more than 30 years ago and it has been wonderful to find an old, buried passion re-ignited. It turns out that my long-term interest in exploring respectful and intuitive ways of working with not only people, but also horses and dogs, coupled with a highly developed ability to ‘read’ bodies, makes this new venture a perfect fit for me. I also run the business side of things so I’ll be your first port of call when setting up your session and I’m always on hand to answer your questions.
