Christopher Terry Photography Creative Nottingham wedding photographer I am a Nottingham based wedding photographer, that loves telling stories with photographs.

When it comes to photographing a wedding, I want to tell the real story of the day. I want to capture the real moments between real people, nothing contrived, nothing cheesy - I want to provide couples with images that are natural, beautiful and something that can be looked at and appreciated for years to come.

A little sequence from Emily and Max’s day

Emily and Max had the brilliant to entertain their guests at the drinks reception and meal. I always love catching the looks on peoples faces, either in pure shock or just laughing. I always find having magician is not only a great way to entertain everyone, but it’s also a great way to get lots of photos of people naturally enjoying themselves.

Swipe through for a few moments from Erica & Michael’s beautiful day at

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a while, so it was great to finally see the day come together. Erika and Michael are such a lovely couple, and I there were so many sweet little moments between them to capture.

They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony with a handfasting led by who told their story of how they met in such a lovely personal way.

Erica and Michael were such a friendly, relaxed couple to spend the day with, and it made documenting everything feel easy.

It was also really nice to work alongside Daiga from No Ordinary Films again

Sparklers on your wedding day can always be fun, if not a bit chaotic, with a load of pi**ed guests. Here are a few quick tips to make the most of them:

• Go for long sparklers – they last longer, giving you more time for photos and less stress.
• Have a solid lighting plan – a blowtorch, fire pit, or a couple of windproof lighters works best. Once a few are lit, guests can help each other (it snowballs quickly!).
• Timing matters – around 30 minutes after sunset is ideal. You’ll get that gorgeous dusky blue sky rather than pitch black… but always fit it around your schedule (first dance, food, etc.).
• Get guests lined up and light from the starting point – by the time you walk through, everything should be glowing nicely.
• Pop a few buckets of sand nearby so guests can safely dispose of used sparklers (no scorched grass!).
• And don’t forget… you two need sparklers as well! They add a beautiful glow to your faces in low light ✨

A little planning goes a long way – and the results are always worth it 🔥

Chelsea and Joe getting ready before the ceremony at the gorgeous

I always find the mornings are an interesting part of the day to photograph, there is often quite a lot of nervous energy, excitement and buildup to the ceremony. It’s also the only part of the day where the couple don’t see each other, which makes it really special. The photos become a way of seeing the nerves, excitement, and quiet moments from the other side.
