This is what 12 months looks like for me. Supporting women, helping them to create meaningful, authentic images for them to tell their own stories, confidently online.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, I’d like to thank each and every woman who has chosen to work with me. You are helping me to create a business a life that makes me really happy.

It’s a privilege to know you all.

My heart is heavy for the injustice to so many women around the world, and it seems incomprehensible that the situation is getting worse, not better for so many.

Women Mean Business

The March edition of Reflections Magazine is out!

Journalist and Editor Fiona contacted me about putting together a piece on inspiring and successful business women in Derbyshire.

I work closely with Reflections, providing images of my amazing clients fairly often.

What I hadn’t quite banked on was that they were planning to feature me in the article!

In my conversation with Fiona, I said:
“When their imagery reflects that clarity, it gives them a powerful confidence boost, helping them show up more intentionally and consistently online.”

What I didn’t think to say was how these incredible women help me push forward with my own self-belief and confidence.

When we work together and find a supportive community, exciting things happen.

I’m so happy and proud to be sitting alongside 11 other Derbyshire women running their own businesses. Including these six incredible women who I’m proud to be working closely with on their brand photography.

Nine years ago I photographed this family for the very first time when their eldest child was a newborn, and I have captured key moments in their lives ever since.

Late last year, Dad Tom got in touch to ask if I could I possibly come to Barnsley THIS Saturday to photograph a vow renewal for him and Hannah.

IMPORTANT - READ ON

Their wonderful nine year old son has set himself the challenge to run 380K, that’s NINE marathons before April.

He’s doing this to raise money for the Brain Tumour charity that is supporting his Dad.

Sometimes, when I least expect it, a message lands in my inbox that makes me think, “ooooh, I love that idea.”

A few weeks ago Ellie messaged me saying “I was thinking about bringing my pointe shoes to my maternity shoot. What do you think?”

Urm….YES!!!

I loved photographing mummy to be, and Elevation Dance Company owner Ellie in my studio this week.

It was something a little different for me, and I loved every minute of it.

A little note of gratitude to accompany these photos.

Every family who came along to my studio Christmas mini sessions this year are so special to me.

I've photographed all of these wonderful kids multiple times, 8 of them since their newborns shoots.

✨Waiting for Santa✨

A little festive magic, made the old-fashioned way.

I’ve been using photoshop for 27(!) years, and for my families who come to my Christmas mini sessions, I love adding a touch of storybook sparkle to their images.

This one is a composite image, which simply means it’s made from several real photographs, all taken by me, and carefully stitched together.

The little girl? Real.
The window and Christmas tree? Real.
The shed outside? Also very real (and very cold)

It’s not AI-generated, just a bit of patience, imagination, and many years of practice.

I hope it makes you smile and feel a little bit Christmassy✨

Have you been around Chatsworth House this Christmas?

I’ve worked on tons of exciting projects but this one really topped my year off in style.

Everdenes owner Amy is so great to work with and I was so happy that she’s landed such an exciting commission, alongside her regular Chatsworth Market gig.

I was even more happy to be asked to go into the house before opening to photograph Amy with her truly incredible creations.

9 years in business

A business that gives me freedom, joy and community.

There have been plenty of hard moments and tears along the way, but it’s always been rewarding. The key for me has been learning from mistakes and constantly developing.

Every evolution of my business has taught me so much. I’m excited to see what the next 12 months will bring.
