1 5 0 & C O U N T I N G 🫡

This week, the fleet of 15 Rockwell B1-B Lancers that are forward deployed to RAF Fairford surpassed their 150th sortie as part of Operation Epic Fury

I’ve been lucky enough to catch five different sets of B1 departures and a few recoveries over the last few months. It’s safe to say us aviation enthusiasts have been treated well this year! 🤘🏼🦴

The USAF fleet of x8 B-52H Stratofortress’ lies poised and ready at RAF Fairford to act at a moment’s notice in case of escalation in the Middle East

Here are just a few of the B-52’s looking menacing on the ramp as the sun sets over the airfield ⚔️

It has been a privilege to capture the special tail Rockwell B1-B EL 85-060 on deployment from Ellsworth AFB over the last few months at RAF Fairford, which commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the Doolittle Raid in 2022 and still wears the special nose and tail art to this day.

This caption is translated to English from the then 17th Bombardment Group’s motto ‘Toujours au Danger’

Here is it as part of a 4 ship ‘MORAN’ flight returning from a strike mission in the Middle East back in April

What an absolutely awesome experience capturing this USAF B-52H MT 60-0007 ‘Guardians of the Upper Realm’ in the circuit at RAF Fairford on Sunday evening 🤘🏼

There’s just something about those screaming engines and smoke against the beauty of the Cotswold landscape that makes this scene so unique!

USAF Rockwell B1-B callsign ‘JERKY11’ bursting my eardrums and shaking my insides with an overhead pass out of RW27 at RAF Fairford on Sunday morning 🤯😮‍💨🤘🏼

Just minutes before these shots were taken this B1-B also destroyed the fence line whilst throttling up to taxi 🤣 just a reminder of how powerful these aircraft really are

As the ceasefire between the USA and Iran continues (for now), I thought I’d post a few more shots of the magnificent USAF Rockwell B1-B’s that have been operating out of RAF Fairford over the last 6 weeks.

From ground shaking, ear shattering noise at full afterburner, to its huge payload and sleek looks, this aircraft really has it all.

Long live the BONE 🦴

Yesterday a pair of B-52H Stratofortress’ MT 60-060 ‘Iron Butterfly’ 🦋 and LA 61-020 ‘The Big Stick’ under the callsign ’BEZEL’ lifted off from RAF Fairford on another strike mission to the Middle East 💥

Note the x12 JASSM’s (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) attached under the wings.. EPIC!

USAF Rockwell B1-B’s 86-102 ‘Bad Moon Rising’ & 86-139 ‘Drifter’ callsign ‘WHISK’ returning safely to RAF Fairford this morning after another strike mission in the Middle East.

Great to get a 🤘🏼 from one of the pilots too!
