R A P T O R D R I V E R

Airmen and women and their ground crew of the 94th Fighter Squadron based out of Langley AFB take the short walk across the apron to their respective F-22A Raptors at RAF Fairford on Monday 13th July 2026 before heading home after deployment.

This was such a cool experience. Being so close and watching the jets come to life for the first time was a very memorable experience!

Is there a cooler job in the world? I don’t think so…

T H E H O L Y G R A I L

USAF B-1B Lancers EL 85-069 ‘Avenger’ and EL 85-060 ‘Doolittle Raider’ under the callsign a ‘HARPO40/41’ depart RAF Fairford on a training mission in the dead of the night (01.45) on 30th July 2026

What an absolutely mind-blowing experience. This to me is aviation and spotting at its absolute best. Moments like this just make this hobby the best thing in the world. If you know you know.

I’ve wanted to witness this spectacle and capture all four of the B-1’s General Electric F101 engines in full afterburner for years and years and to finally be able to get these on this deployment is just incredible!!

Back to business?

Over the last week B1-B Lancers from RAF Fairford participated in brief strikes against Iran in the Middle East, before a pause was agreed by both sides

With tensions still high in the conflict, could we see a resumption of the war similar to earlier in the year? Time will tell…

This shot was from 13th July 2026 back when the B-1s were conducting regular training sorties. This particular be one was EL 86-0138 ‘Seek and Destroy’ under the callsign ‘CARL12’

I’m still not over this experience last Monday. Being meters away from this flight of x3 F-22A Raptors holding before departing back to the states as TREND41 flight is something I’ll never forget.

I decided to slightly heavy and dark on this edit to really bring out the mood.. I think it works!

Head one with one of the x9 USAF Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptors that departed RAF Fairford yesterday morning

I still can’t believe this happened. Ever since I got into aviation the F-22 was the jet for me. The noise, the looks, the manoeuvrability - it has it all. After three attempts of capturing them at RAF Lakenheath in the last few years I was finally rewarded at Fairford of all places! So stoked to have been able to capture these shots before hotfooting it over to RW09 for their departures

Farewell, BUFFS 👋

Today saw all remaining Boeing B-52H Stratofortress’ head back stateside after almost 4 months deployed to RAF Fairford as part of Operation Epic Fury 🇺🇸

I didn’t get the chance to see that many movements from these mighty machines but they were always impressive when I did.

Safe to say the Cotswolds air will be breathing a sigh of relief 😅

USAF B-1B from Ellsworth AFB 86-108 ‘Alien with an Attitude’ blasts out of RAF Fairford on RW09 as ‘JERKY11’ on Sunday evening

No amount of images can comprehend the noise and sensations these beasts present you with when stood just a few hundred metres away.

I’m not usually one for posting commercial aircraft but these shots I couldn’t not share!

Here is one of the Boeing 747’s operated by Kalitta Air fluffing up nicely on departure from RAF Fairford in support of Operation Epic Fury the other week. 747 cargo flights have been relentless since March, you’re almost guaranteed to see an arrival or departure on a spotting trip when at Fairford!

1 5 0 & C O U N T I N G 🫡

This week, the fleet of 15 Rockwell B1-B Lancers that are forward deployed to RAF Fairford surpassed their 150th sortie as part of Operation Epic Fury

I’ve been lucky enough to catch five different sets of B1 departures and a few recoveries over the last few months. It’s safe to say us aviation enthusiasts have been treated well this year! 🤘🏼🦴
