One moment, two angles. 😍 If you could be in two places at the same time, where would you be? In bed whilst still at work? In a bar whilst also snuggled up on the sofa watching tv? In bed and also snuggled up on the sofa watching tv? Yeah... me too!
However, since I haven't yet figured out how to be in two places at the same time, I am often joined on a wedding day by Abbi, who I've known for over ten years and who has become an invaluable member of my team. Together, we can cover even more of your day and be in two places at once! Congratulations to Kate and Sam! As always, we had a brilliant day at the beautiful yesterday. Other than a bit of blustery wind, the weather played ball and Kate and Sam were able to be married outdoors in a gorgeous ceremony with views over the Derbyshire countryside.

It’s always a privilege to be asked to photograph a wedding, but it’s extra special when, as in this case, it’s the wedding of a friend. Thank you so much for having us along yesterday: Abbi and I had a great day!

Lidia and Fraser wanted a wedding day where both sides of the family got together with their friends all in one place just letting loose, drinking some drinks and having fun. This was the perfect intimate summer wedding with a warm, back-garden wedding feel at The Cottage Hotel Ruddington.

How Izaak and Katriona smashed their confetti throw shot and what you can do to make sure your wedding photos are awesome too.....

1. Big and bold is better
This one's nice and simple, the bigger the confetti the easier it will be to see in the photo. Use bold and bright colours to make them stand out even more.

2. Paper is perfection
Paper confetti is light and floats beautifully and it tends to float better than dried flower petals, which are also small and usually dark (see point 1).

3. Grab a handful
While individual bags, cones or sachets are a nice touch, the best confetti shots happen when guests can grab a massive handful and throw it directly from there hands and up towards the couple.

4. Buy way more than you think you need
As a wedding photographer, trust me on this one! It's been scientifically proven that you cannot have too much confetti for your confetti throw! If you want the dense, colour-filled shots that Izaak and Katriona have here, the trick is to buy as much as you can afford!

Congratulations to Maddie & Chris! I was looking forward to seeing these two again following their engagement shoot back in February and we had an absolutely brilliant day celebrating with their family and friends at the beautiful Holme Pierrepont Hall in Nottinghamshire following their wedding ceremony at The Pilgrim Church. Thank you for having us along to spend it with you. It was great to meet everyone and see how much love there is for the two of you.
