Some days pay off. This composition isn't new (but it is new to me) but I thoroughly enjoyed what this evening had to offer. I loved the hike. I loved the colours that kept sweeping over the landscape and then hiding behind the clouds. I kept missing a few shots as I was panicking at the constant cold wind in my eyes while trying to set up a shot in the best place. I also enjoyed editing it together. What the raw files had to offer. I have used 2 blended exposures for this for an extra bit of sharpness in the distance for a better bigger print. This place we call home can be so beautiful even if only for those small minutes.

Throwback to a bright and sunny hike to Muckish Mountain in Donegal back in May last year.

Offering stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic coast, Horn Head and Mount Errigal in the distance.

This is the most rockiest surfaced mountain I've ever hiked. I remember struggling to capture a photo that showed this as the views where so expansive. Looking back through these photos I still felt that there was more to share of that journey!

667 meters high & the 2nd highest of the Seven Sisters. Muckish Mountain is also the 3rd highest in the Derryveagh range.

We took the Miners Path route which is a steep historic route on the northern side. This mining zone used to be for collecting silica sand which was then mined for glass-making until the 1950s.

A few shots from the excellent Slievenaglogh, Corragh & Commedagh hike throughout The Mournes this July. A few rain clouds in the distance creating mood and drama and dark contrast in these images. Lovely! Also my canon A4 printer has bust so if anyone wants to throw one my way that would be great! I would love an upgrade someday to an A3...

An exploration of Ben Crom Mountain at the end of May this year. This was the first time I finally seen the view from this mountain as it is best to conquer it on a sunny dry day. A lot of the ground cover is wild with peatlands and bog. The ground is very marshy in places and there is a lot of up and down dunes to get past. However it definitely is one of my favourite hikes as it has a fond memory of my recovery hike from the insane Ben Nevis a few days earlier!
