I took a quick run up to Slieve Muck during a heartbroken moment. This is when you realise your own personal journeys have a meaning all on their very own. This isn't about chasing the best light or the best mountain. It is trying to understand what is happening in your own personal life. Unfortunately losing someone really important to you in your own personal life is a deep pain nothing can heal it. For me it is another alternate reality. But I am very grateful for the future my 'father-in-law' gave me and my partner. Set here in Castlewellan as it also gave me this photographic mountainous journey of my own that has offered a lot of love and remembrance of the good times. Lots of love to all my family and friends. Thank you for being there when I didn't realise I needed yous.

Naomi Savage's photography grew out of a life in music. Shooting gigs in Belfast gave her an eye for light and timing, and after taking night classes in 2017...

I haven't shared an image in a while so here is one I've been working on today while printing. Now this is the 3rd edit. While printing it I kept trying to correct the colour balance of the purple cast but also trying to keep the shadow blues in there and the yellow and orange colours in the sky. I always give up. But then it creeps back up later on for me to try it again. Enjoy the scene of Meelmore! Photographed while hiking with The Northern Ireland Walking Photography Group last May.

More sunset vibes from the intense sunset at Bearnagh. Shapes and layers and mountains with natures colour at it's most picturesque. My favourite!

It's funny I was thinking about how a sunset represents the end of the day, like the death of a day but really those moments of a beautiful sunset is when I feel most alive.

Which in turn got me thinking about a sunrise... trying to photograph a sunrise on top of a mountain you begin your journey like a sleeping giant and it is tough to get yourself awakened, but then once you experience the sunrise and seen those colours you feel even more alive and awake. It's like a sudden interaction.

Demo prints! Not bad at all!

Some demo budget A4 printing at home using the cheap but very cheerful Canon Pixma MG2551s and the beautiful Permajet Matt Plus 240. I got this printer refurbished for £20 with canon inks already in it and I got 100 sheets of permajet matt for an incredible price of £18. Honestly what is stopping me from printing at this price! (Proofing only of course) But the results are quite good especially at this price range. All the more, it pushes you even further to want to do better from your photography. It definitely has it's limits (It can only use up to 275gsm paper & it can't use any available generic icc profiles) but limits are fun and are there to be pushed!
