📸 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐓! 🖨️

This coming Monday 14th September, we’re delighted to welcome Steve Howdle from Wild Berry to the club for a presentation all about printing your photography.

For many of us, our images spend most of their lives on a computer screen or phone — but seeing your photography properly printed is something completely different.

Steve will take us through the process of transforming a digital image into a tangible, finished piece of art, and why printing can be such an important final step in the creative process.

He’ll be covering topics including 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 and plenty more.

And if there’s something you’ve always wanted to know about printing, this is the perfect opportunity to ask!

This week saw our third internal competition of the year, with the theme of Minimalism. It certainly proved challenging at times, but it also produced some fantastic and creative entries!

We’re delighted to announce that our winning image was “Breaking Point”, captured by Martin Travis. 🏆📸

A brilliantly simple concept, executed perfectly. Congratulations, Martin! 👏

Remember back in the summer at our Annual Exhibition, we held a raffle where the lucky winner could choose their favourite image from the exhibition to take home? 📸

Our winner was Louis, who chose this fantastic shot, “Barn Owl on the Hunt,” captured by Andrew Reid. 🦉

Here he is pictured with his dad and brother, alongside photographer Andrew Reid, after collecting his prize.

We hope you enjoy having your new picture up in your bedroom, Louis — and who knows, hopefully we might even see you at the club sometime soon! 📷😁

Congratulations, Louis! 🎉👏

Here's to our beautiful county and all the memories we've captured through the lens.

A huge thank you to Castleford Indoor Market for once again allowing us to use the exhibition space (same time next year? 😉).

👏 Thanks also to all our members who generously gave up their time throughout the week to help look after the exhibition and chat with visitors.

❤️ Most importantly, thank you to everyone from the local community who came along, took the time to enjoy the photographs, and voted for their favourites. Your support means so much to us.

📸 I popped into Castleford Market this morning to have a look around the Castleford Camera Club Exhibition... and thankfully they hadn't put any of my photography on display! 😅

It was lovely to have a chat with some of the members and see the incredible talent we have right here on our doorstep. With over 100 fantastic photographs on display, there's everything from stunning landscapes to amazing wildlife shots – and plenty that will have you saying, "How on earth did they capture that?!" 👏

If you haven't been yet, don't panic! You still have one last chance on Saturday 18th July before the exhibition is taken down after lunchtime.

🎟️ Don't forget to pick up a voting slip from one of the Camera Club members, choose your three favourite photographs, and you could even win a print to take home.

Our local clubs and volunteers put so much time and passion into events like this, so if you're in Castleford, why not pop in, have a browse, cast your votes and show your support for some incredibly talented local photographers.

Who knows... you might even leave inspired to dust off that camera that's been sat in a drawer since your last holiday! 📷😂

I hope lots of people are able to pop along and give these talented local photographers the support they deserve. ❤️
