Tornado 60163 heading North towards Appleby. Last day of it's 3 day operation here on the famous Settle & Carlisle railway. A little different to my last picture. Cold & windy up there today.

Tornado 60163 Britain's newest steam locomotive! Operating for Northern on the Settle & Carlisle railway. First scheduled passenger steam train service in 50 years! Photo taken on Blea Moor this morning.

Spotted Flying Scotsman 60103 in Carlisle last Saturday. It was pulling "The Hadrian" for The Railway Touring Company. Leicester to Carlisle via the West Coast main line, returning via the Tyne Valley & York. Whilst the passengers spent time in Carlisle the BBC filmed an episode of the Antiques Roadshow onboard.

Happy Easter everyone.

Here is one of my images published by Northern Rail. They used it to promote the Settle & Carlisle railway's winter offer to West Yorkshire Metrocard holders. Our kids spotted it at Ben Rhydding station on the Wharfedale line recently.
