The red squirrel is one of the UK’s most iconic species, but it’s been pushed out of much of the country by grey squirrels and habitat loss.

What makes them special?

👉 They can rotate their ankles to climb down trees headfirst — something most animals can’t do.
Small, fast, and seriously skilled 🌲
