Spotted Flycatcher update 🥰.

I'm chuffed to bits to see that at least 2 of the 3 Spotted Flycatchers that were raised in our garden this year are still around our patch🥰. Perching on various staging posts, gates and vegitation around us to hunt for flies.

How cool is that!👌🥰

Still a few breeding Meadow Pipits defending territory around at St Brides a couple of weeks back. This one was telling me to keep my distance as I walked by on the coastal path. It always amazes me how close to the path some actually nest. Their nests as so well hidden and woven into the grasses at ground level, they are almost impossible to spot.

This very friendly juvenile Blackbird is mid moult and looking very sorry for herself but I'm sure she will look splendid in a couple of weeks' time. She was posing for me in a very dignified manner....🥰

Lots of juveniles around at the moment learning to be independent. A beautiful pair of Dunlin were feeding and sleeping on a very busy beach at St Brides, Pembrokeshire at the weekend. They were carrying on about their business inbetween the deck chairs, paddle boards and kayaks and resting where they could find a quiet spot.

Eye to eye with a wild bird of prey is magical. This beautiful juvenile Common Buzzard was quietly sitting on a fence post at NT Dinefwr just surveying it's surroundings when I stumbled upon it and for a minute or so, we both just stared at each other, both unsure what to do. It eventually flew into a nearby tree until I was passed and out of sight. A great way to end the day.
