A very rare sight in most of the UK - Tree Sparrows (juveniles). Red listed and very difficult to find here in Wales. This pair were on a garden fence in Aberdeenshire, set off beautifully against the field of rapeseed behind them.

Sat quietly enjoying the late evening sun in NT Dinefwr, I was rewarded with an unexpected and quite special visitor!

I'm not sure which of us was the most surprised. This fellow was so close he only just fitted in the frame but stayed for just long enough for a portrait.....what a treat to end the day on.

Not wanting to miss out on the action from the Tree Sparrows, this female Greater Spotted Woodpecker muscled in on the rapeseed back drop and looks equally fetching I think!🤔😅

Not the closest or sharpest encounter but hey, its a White-tailed Sea Eagle🤷‍♀️🥰.
