📌 witchurch mental asylum

Stepping back in time at Whitchurch Hospital. Opened in 1908 as the Cardiff City Asylum, this Grade II listed complex was once a massive, self-contained community with its own farms, fire station, and a 150-foot water tower. After 108 years of treating patients and serving as a war hospital in both World Wars, it closed its doors for good in 2016. A truly haunting but beautiful piece of Welsh history. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✨
