I’ve been wanting to get a photograph of Orion for ages, so last night I finally found the time to grab my kit, and head out in the van for a night under the stars. I was glad of the double layering of .equipment down jackets, as the wind was freezing! But worth the effort, even if I did struggle to remember camera settings- it’s been a while since my last astro shoot. But great to get back out.

A few weeks ago I managed to get out for some camera time, on a walk in waterfall country. I hiked along the Elidir trail to one of my favourite waterfalls- Scwd Ddwli Uchaf. I was a bit late for full autumn colours, but a few leaves were still around 👌🏼 Gotta love Wales, eh? ❤️

Llangattock Escarpment in the . An impressive band of limestone cliffs along the North Edge of Mynydd Llangattock. There’s also some cool caves to explore too 👌🏼 I walked up here last weekend, and for the first time in ages managed to get some camera time 👍🏼 The walking up on the plateau was a good challenge too - mostly tussocky, boggy and pathless! So a good adventure 😃 .

A still & frosty start to the day on Mynydd Illtyd. I haven’t been out with my camera for a while, but Saturday morning I woke early and went for a wander, and was not disappointed. It was a beautiful start to the day. So lucky to have these places so close 😍 .

Mid Wales desert. The upland areas of mid Wales are wonderfully wild and desolate. With the new ability to explore, I walked out from the Elan Valley to Drygarn Fawr. A superb walk, though much of it is across tussocky bogland... so not for the faint hearted! but the views are superb- the distant Beacons on the horizon, with the Epynt range in between. Here’s to 2021 bringing more adventures 🤞🏼🙏🏼 .

Happy Spring Equinox (for us northern hemisphere folk). Spring is officially here- it’s been a long winter for us all. Here’s a shot from Newport Wetlands (taken before the restrictions). Here’s looking forward to lighter evenings and finally being able to get exploring again... 🤞🏼

The last grip of winter? Saturday’s snowfall made for great conditions to walk up Craig yr Allt, though it was bitterly cold at the top! I’m lucky to have long walks like this from my doorstep. The weather is warming up now, I wonder if winter will pay us another a return before spring kicks in... .

Anyone else longing for a chance to explore further afield? I walked over the Garth today- I’m fortunate it’s close enough to not need to drive there. But the Beacons looked amazing in their winter coat. I’ll be up there one day soon, I hope... 🤞🏼
