Filming for Rugby Canada and Rugby Canada Womens XV in their match against Red Roses

Very quick turn around for video of less than 24 hours as I had a flight to the USA at 4am the next day.

Video is always the first priority and photos are just for fun so super happy with capturing these photos along side filming the match especially. Especially as the result was the first draw against England in a very long time.

Canada is a team I’ve wanted to work with for the last couple of years so getting this opportunity was a big milestone.

Big thanks to Gareth Bartlett for the captures of me.

Highlights from last weekends Prem Final shooting for PREM Rugby

Massively thankful to shoot this match. 4 years working in rugby and this is my second prem final I’ve been luckily enough to shoot.

and I took on the challenge of shooting the final from each end and I think we did a pretty epic job of capturing creative images of the match. Big thanks to and the team at the Prem for inviting us down.

Incredibly grateful for Wex Photo Video for sorting me out with the 400mm f2.8 for this.

Shots from the PREM Rugby Semi final
Bath v Exeter

Had the chance to use the 400mm f2.8 from Sony thanks for Wex Photo Video who have been absolutely incredible.
Ironically the stadium and pitch in Bath has to be one of the smallest grounds in the premiership so the 400 is actually way over kill for this.
But was a great excuse to play around and learn how to use it before this weeks Final at Twickenham. The image quality really is second to none.

The temptation to add this to my normal camera set up is incredibly high, no other lens has got me as excited or has given the results that this has.

Anyway. Enjoy so shots with some of my favourite edits.

Last match of the season before playoffs

Exeter Chiefs v Saracens

Mostly video work but managed to grab some stills along the way.

Nothing crazy creative in the field. More fun in post messing with the second slide editing with some pixel stretching and the slide 10s sticker style.

In the mountains 🏔️

Big change up from sport capture.

This was an epic trip up to Scotland to capture some of the estates of . It’s a really cool challenge for me to get out and create a scene.

Compared to sports where the action is in front of you and the pressure is to capture it in real time. Here it’s about having an idea in your head. Hiking to where it might work and then creating the shot. The beauty is there is a little more time with these shots. Although sometimes the light can change incredibly quickly completely altering the landscape.

Those interested things the whistler 450 AWii which is amazing in the rain and bad weather.
And then im@in the tracker boots.
All shots were on the A1ii

Photo dump from England v Wales

This was a hard shoot. SUPER strong sun causing harsh shadows and blowing out all the highlights in the white England kit.

But still pretty happy with how the shots came out.

Did mean I got to crank up the shutter speed and really enjoy freezing the action, respect women’s rugby there is a lot more hair movement so sometimes that can be a really cool indication of speed with the players when caught at 1/8000 of a second

Week wrap up vs

Quite a hard shoot as the weather constantly changed on me.
Balancing the rain and sun change whilst also focusing on filming for ment I only got a couple of shots but was nice to crack up the shutter speed in the sun and get some crispy fully lit photos of the women playing rugby
