I went down to Sandwich in Kent yesterday with Caleb and my friend Tom. We spent two hours waiting in the cold then as we drove home we stopped and saw this! A short eared owl and a Kestrel fighting. Never seen this before. It went on for about 20 minutes.

I set off before sunrise this morning to photograph some Peregrines down on the cliffs of Dover with my pals Stan and Tom (who showed us where to go!)

I never expected to see this happen. I only had a few seconds to capture this. Peregrines are fast at everything it seems! Such amazing birds.

It’s harvest time in the field opposite my house and I’ve never seen so many birds of prey in one field at one time! Needless to say I sprinted to my office to put on my wildlife lens and raced out the front door with Caleb to photograph them!

The best surprise after seeing an eagle so close to us was this pod of bottle nosed dolphins that followed us some of the way back to the port. They swam right next to the boat and one of them put on a show for us!

I had my 100-500mm lens on so captured this at 100mm. I had my 35mm in my bag but I didn’t want to risk them swimming off. I’m pleased I got this to remember yesterday which was my favourite day of wildlife photography to date!

My first time seeing Puffins! We went out to an island an hour’s boat trip from Mull but we weren’t sure if there’d be many puffins on the island at all. To our surprise and delight there were thousands! Swimming in the sea, flying about and also billing.

I knew I’d find puffins adorable and I could have watched them all day. Thanks for the trip Turus Mara

This is without doubt the best wildlife experience I’ve ever had! Getting to see an eagle in the wild is pretty epic but photographing one 10 metres away from the boat you’re in is extraordinary.

After a couple of hours of waiting we got to see this white tailed eagle and then after she’d gone some bottle nosed dolphins swam beside our boat. I’ll never forget today! Thanks Mull Charters for having me along!
