So I don’t really do photography anymore as other things have become my focus (hello 3 year MSc😂) but when posted on my local community group that she was looking for ideas for her and her husbands anniversary on a VERY low budget, I knew my assignment and I offered them a free couples Photoshoot.

She finally “cashed in” her voucher and this evening, we all went to Castle Park and I had a fantastic time capturing their love. There was laughs, dancing and not even the rain could put these two off!

Amanda and Andy ✨

Amanda and Andy got married in Canterbury with a reception in Herne Bay during COVID. Masks had to be worn and the guest list had to be cut in half but it didn’t stop them having a beautiful day. They married at Canterbury register office and then had their reception on the seafront which made for beautiful views like this one. Their day is still the most special day and it was a pleasure being apart of it!

Back in May, I had the immense pleasure of photographing the Canterbury Christ Church University Class of 1979, 71 and 72 Alumni event. The event was for anyone who studied at CCCU and graduated between 70-72, back when Christ Church was a teaching collage. It was lovely to have been asked to be involved by Frances, the Alumni Co-Ordinator, I loved hearing the attendee’s stories, seeing their old photographs and watching them catch up with friends and course mates. A particular highlight was visiting the Erasmus building and being told by 2 of the attendees that it used to be the students Union and that the fruit machines (he gestured at this point) were “over there!”

A fantastic event, my thanks goes to everyone involved!

I love the reception- the dancing, the laughs and the surprises, in this case a confetti cannon. I always stay after the first dance and make sure I include the cake cutting too as most of the awesome moments happen when everyone’s had a drink or 5!

There really is no feeling like it. The joy, the emotion. Rosie and Alex were married in 2020, mask wearing, distancing and other COVID rules were very much in effect but it didn’t stop them having a lovely ceremony at St Martins Church followed by fish and chips at the Bishops Finger in Canterbury ✨

Excitement on your wedding morning ✨

I love capturing wedding morning prep, in fact some of my couples have said I don’t need to be there for it but I’ve persuaded them that I do and have come out with awesome pictures like these!

My top tip is always have a photographer there, get ready in a place with lots of natural light and make sure you have breakfast for all your bridesmaids!
