The Siberian tiger, also known as Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) Is the world's largest cat which can measure up to 10.75 feet and weight up to 660 pounds.

The Siberian tiger can be mainly found in Russia but also in China and North Korea. Tigers live alone and scent-mark their territories. They can travel long distances to find prey on nocturnal hunts. They use their coats as camouflage and no two Tigers have exactly the same stripes. Females raise the cubs, which remain with them for 2-3 years before spreading to find their own territories.

Siberian tigers are listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List with a currently stable population trend. From the originally 9 tiger subspecies only 6 remain, the other 3 going extinct during the 20th century. Their main threats are habitat destruction but also hunting as trophies or for use in traditional Chinese medicine.
