The Curlew 😍 I had never seen one before visiting Scotland (yes, I have lived but not near the wonderful Curlew) - their cries stop you in your tracks. They really like the damp moorland that dominate a lot of the Cairngorms national park. I didn’t expect to see so many there.

This Dunnock was perfectly poised on a post during a dawn walk by the river. The light was perfect, the little bird sat for a while and didn’t seemed threatened by my presence - Those moments are so special. I’ve never managed to come eye to eye with a hare before - This one was staring at me through the fence before I noticed it was there. I pointed the camera, took my shot and then as I blinked it was half way across the field!
