My Journey
This year marks ten years of camera ownership for me. I’ve come a long way from the start, and my gear has consistently evolved with me. Everyone believes that to get the best photos, you have to have the best gear. That’s not strictly true.
I’ve owned a Canon 30D (my first), a Canon 1000D (I got it from my mom), a Canon 40D (the first camera I bought myself), a Canon 750D, a Canon 1DX (I owned two—one broke; it was my first full-frame professional camera), my current camera of choice, a Canon R3, and finally a Vivitar V2000 (my first 35mm camera).
I’ve loved every single camera, and I’ve used many more. I buy what I love and create the best work I can. Obviously, these cameras rely on a complement of lenses—which is a story for another day. But as you can see, for at least five of the past ten years, my skills were what made the photos, not so much the camera.
If you want to hear more about my story, I’ll be updating my website, so keep an eye out!
