Anyone who has followed me for a while will know that following the devastating loss of my second pregnancy following severe hyperemesis gravidarum last year I took some much needed time out. I had been burning out for a while and then the toll that HG took on me was catastrophic. The last 12 months have given me time to pause and reflect. What does my photography look like? What are the sessions that bring me joy? What do I want my style to be going forward?
I hope to be back in 2027 with a few changes…
I have been exploring a cinematic storytelling style, making moments in your real life feel like they could be on the screen. I want to embrace this more, making every day moments feel like magic. I also want to capture families having amazing days out and magical adventures.
After much reflection I will also not be sharing children’s faces any more due to concerns over AI and privacy.
I will be scaling back what I offer, focussing only on the sessions that bring me the most joy - families and maternity and motherhood, and possibly couples too.
Why the post? I will need to do some portfolio building with my new style. I am so pleased to say that after two pregnancy losses in the last 12 months we are expecting a new addition to our family in October. I am once again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum but I am being well cared for. This means I am not ready to book sessions for paying clients as my health is unpredictable. But for friends and family who would like a photoshoot please send me a message and let’s chat. I can offer 5 free images and then a discounted full gallery. These would be used for portfolio building. There are some shoots I would love to get:
Gardening with toddlers
Getting the house ready for Christmas (I know long way off!)
Shadow puppets at home
Toddlers and chickens / an allotment
A steam train adventure
A tea party in a meadow / teddy’s bear picnic
A day out in a spa town or Cotswold Village
If you have another idea I’d love to hear it. Send me a DM x
