Thanks Jordon for sharing, I resonate with this so much
Slow Burn Meltdowns are a real issue for me.
This is when I'm in Meltdown but no one other than my family can really see it. It bubbles over from time to time, but can last months and lead to seriuos mental health problems if not addressed.
When I was a child I felt anxious and sick all the time, constantly in flight or fight and never safe unless I was out in nature or in my room alone.
Humans were untrustworthy as the hurt me at school, at home and the clubs my parents forced me to go to. My only comfort were my pets and my toys 🧸
I now recognize this as a slow burn meltdown and it lasted for years, only coming to a major explosion when my older Brother passed away.
