Love SwimRun launched in 2016 with our inaugral event Love SwimRun Llanberis, the first swimrun event in Wales! SwimRun is Britain’s fastest growing endurance sport and you can expect to see lots more events taking off in more UK locations. Went host 2 great events: Love SwimRun Llanberis and Love SwimRun Holy Island – a spectacular linear course on the Anglesey coast! You’ll need to sign up fast

for these fun SwimRuns as we only have limited spaces! We also offer three fantastic open water swimming events: The Big Welsh Swim & The Big Bala Swim, which both use narrow gauge railways to transport you to the start of your swim! We have numerous length options, plus spaces for juniors and a non-wetsuit option! The Welsh Winter Swim is a fun but freezing swim challenge with various distances and fun categories, for those that don't mind getting cold! If you prefer smaller events we run guided swimwalks and guided swims down the Menai Strait, plus we offer open water swim courses and 1:1 coaching.

I am short one road marshal for The Big Bala Swim this Saturday (6th June).
I person needed to marshal a short road crossing in the carpark at Bala foreshore. Times: 9.15 until about 2pm.

It’s the first Menai Strait Swim of the year tomorrow. I’ll be taking 12 intrepid swimmers for a swoosh down one of the most beautiful and powerful stretches of water in the uk!
I’ve done this swim over 30 times but each time is always different and it never, ever gets boring! I could do it every day! 🩵

For the FIRST TIME, there will be an open water swim event in this incredible lake — and it’s exclusive to Love SwimRun.

Introducing The Big Brenig Swim

This is the only opportunity each year to swim across Llyn Brenig.
As a working reservoir, swimming isn’t normally allowed (apart from a very limited area for short supervised swims) making this a truly rare experience.

And we’re keeping it special…

Last night the sea looked like silk. The moon rose over the mountains to one side as I swam parallel to the shore, and a velvety coral sunset lit up the other. There was barely a ripple on the water except for the trail I left behind me. After 2km I stopped and floated quietly, completely absorbed in the colour and calm. So grateful this is home.

The countdown is on for The Big Welsh Swim - returning to North Wales on Saturday 4th July 2026.

Swim through the stunning waters of Llyn Padarn, surrounded by mountains, slate quarries and incredible scenery, with distances for everyone from first-timers to experienced marathon swimmers.
