Happy Sunday folks.

Sometimes the best way to start a Sunday is with a peaceful walk and a chance to appreciate the wildlife right on our doorstep. With the sun shining and the morning feeling wonderfully calm, I decided to take a little stroll locally to make the most of the beautiful start to the day.

As I wandered along a quiet dirt track leading into the woods, I came across this incredibly relaxed wild rabbit enjoying the tranquil surroundings. It was clearly in no rush to be anywhere, happily soaking up the peaceful Sunday atmosphere. What made the encounter even more special was how comfortable it seemed with my presence. It barely batted an eyelid as I stopped to admire it and capture a few photographs with my Nikon camera.

Moments like these are a wonderful reminder to slow down, take a breath, and appreciate the simple beauty that nature provides. Watching this chilled little rabbit enjoying its morning was the perfect start to the day and a great example of how wildlife can surprise us when we take the time to look.

I hope everyone’s Sunday is proving to be just as relaxed, peaceful, and enjoyable as this rabbit’s. Wishing you all a fantastic day, whatever you’re up to!

An early start with the camera this morning saw me heading over to Haslingden, returning to a spot I first visited last year in the hope of finding one of my favourite birds – the beautiful Stonechat. Thankfully, it turned out to be well worth the effort, as I was once again treated to the opportunity to observe and photograph these stunning little birds in their natural habitat.

There’s something truly special about Stonechats. Their rich colours, striking markings, and unmistakable call make them stand out wherever they appear. Watching them perch proudly among the grasses and heather, constantly alert and full of character, is always a fantastic experience. Moments like these are exactly why I love wildlife photography – you never know what nature has in store, but when everything comes together, it makes those early starts more than worthwhile.

Have you spotted any Stonechats this year? I’d love to hear where you’ve seen them.

Wishing everyone a fantastic Saturday night and a great weekend ahead!

Happy Friday Everyone!

The weekend is officially here at last, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome a couple of days filled with fresh air, beautiful scenery, and hopefully plenty of wildlife encounters. Who else is planning to get out into nature this weekend? Whether you’re exploring woodland trails, wandering across the countryside, or spending a few peaceful hours with a camera in hand, there’s no better way to recharge and reconnect with the natural world.

For tonight’s image, I wanted to share a photograph from last week featuring one of our most vibrant and eye-catching garden visitors – the incredible Siskin. These remarkable little birds never fail to impress me with their striking plumage, bright yellow and green colouring, and intricate markings. Despite their small size, they have a huge presence and are always a joy to observe and photograph when they visit.

Capturing moments like this is one of the many reasons I love wildlife photography. Every encounter feels unique, and it’s always rewarding to showcase the beauty that exists right on our doorstep. The Siskin’s vivid colours seemed especially fitting for a Friday evening, bringing a splash of brightness and positivity as we head into the weekend.

I hope this image brings a smile to your face, lifts your spirits, and inspires you to spend some time appreciating the wonderful wildlife around you over the next few days.

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend filled with nature, adventure, and memorable moments. Have a great one, folks!

🌞 Happy Friday Morning, everyone! 🌞

The weekend is almost within touching distance now, and I honestly can’t wait. Here’s hoping the weather is kind over the next couple of days because I’ll certainly be looking for every opportunity to get out and about with the cameras in hand.

I may even dust off the macro lens again after the success of last weekend’s outing. There’s something truly fascinating about stepping into the miniature world that often goes unnoticed around us. This particular image captures an incredibly busy bumblebee hard at work, completely focused on the task at hand as it moved from flower to flower collecting nectar. Watching these tiny pollinators go about their daily business is a reminder of just how important they are to our environment and how much beauty exists in the smallest of subjects.

This photograph was taken at Moses Gate Country Park using the Nikon D850 paired with the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro lens. The combination allowed me to get wonderfully close to the action while preserving the incredible detail, texture, and character of this industrious little visitor.

Nature photography never fails to surprise me, and moments like this are exactly why I love carrying a camera wherever I go. You never know what incredible scene might be waiting just around the corner.

Have a fantastic Friday, everyone, and a wonderful weekend ahead. Hopefully you’ll find some time to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

Happy Thursday night, folks! 🌙

I hope everyone has had a fantastic day and is looking forward to the weekend ahead. We’re almost there! With any luck, this recent spell of wet weather will begin to ease, giving us all the chance to get back outdoors and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer.

For tonight’s image, I’d like to share another photograph of the magnificent Great Spotted Woodpecker captured during last week’s wildlife adventures. These striking birds are always a pleasure to observe, with their vibrant markings, fascinating behaviour, and unmistakable drumming echoing through the woodland. Moments like these remind me why I love spending time behind the camera, patiently waiting for nature to reveal its wonders.

This particular image was captured with my trusted Nikon D850, a camera that continues to deliver exceptional detail, colour, and performance in the field. Whether photographing birds in flight or capturing intimate wildlife portraits, it remains an invaluable companion on my photographic journeys.

Have you got any plans for the weekend? Whether you’re heading out for a wildlife walk, spending time with family, exploring new locations, or simply relaxing, I’d love to hear what you’ve got planned. Let me know in the comments below!

Good Wednesday evening everyone.

Last week’s wildlife photography shoot was certainly one to remember, with persistent rain creating challenging conditions throughout the day. While many creatures sought shelter from the downpour, this stunning Eurasian Jay seemed completely unfazed, proudly showcasing its incredible beauty against the damp woodland backdrop.

The Eurasian Jay has always been one of my favourite birds to photograph. Despite its often shy and cautious nature, its striking blend of colours, intricate feather patterns, and intelligent character make every sighting feel special. Capturing moments like this reminds me why I love wildlife photography so much — witnessing nature carrying on regardless of the weather and finding beauty in conditions that many would overlook.

The rain added a unique atmosphere to the scene, enhancing the colours and bringing out the wonderful detail in this remarkable bird’s plumage. Patience, perseverance, and a little bit of luck all came together to create a photograph that I’m incredibly pleased with.

I really hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed capturing it. Thank you for your continued support and for sharing my passion for wildlife and photography.

Have a wonderful night everyone.

Happy Tuesday evening folks!

We’re almost at the halfway point of the working week, and hopefully everyone is finding a little time to enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer amidst the daily routine.

For tonight’s image, I wanted to share one of my favourite Nuthatch photographs captured earlier this week. This particular image showcases this remarkable little bird in what I consider to be a classic Nuthatch pose—clinging effortlessly to the tree trunk, displaying the agility, confidence, and character that make this species such a joy to observe and photograph.

The Nuthatch is a truly fascinating bird, renowned for its unique ability to move headfirst down trees, something very few birds can do with such ease. Their striking plumage, sharp markings, and inquisitive nature make every encounter special, while their energetic behaviour provides endless opportunities for wildlife photographers.

Capturing moments like this is one of the reasons I love wildlife photography. It’s not just about documenting a species; it’s about freezing a fleeting moment in time and sharing the incredible details, beauty, and personality of the natural world with others.

I hope you enjoy tonight’s image as much as I enjoyed capturing it. As always, thank you for your continued support, comments, and appreciation for wildlife and nature photography.

Enjoy your evening and happy birding!

Good Morning, Everyone! 📸🐦

Today is an exciting day for our paid supporters, as I’ll be sending out the Image of the Month later today!

This month’s featured photograph is a truly beautiful capture of a Great Spotted Woodpecker, showcasing the striking colours, character, and natural beauty of one of our most iconic woodland birds. It’s a shot I’m particularly proud to share, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed capturing it.

As always, supporters are welcome to save, print, and enjoy the image for personal use as the official Image of the Month for May. Whether it’s used as a desktop background, displayed at home, or simply admired as part of your collection, I hope it brings a little piece of nature into your day.

Looking ahead, I’ll be selecting a brand-new image later this month to become our June Image of the Month, so keep an eye out for that announcement. There have already been some fantastic wildlife encounters recently, making the choice a difficult one!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It genuinely helps me continue creating and sharing wildlife photography, and I’m grateful to have such a wonderful community following along on the journey.

Have a fantastic day everyone, and watch your inboxes for today’s image! 📧✨
