There’s something about this kind of softness that always brings me back to the air element. The lightness, the looseness, the way it barely seems to hold its own shape. It reminds me how much I need spaciousness, breath, and room to think and feel.

What you don’t see in the final image is the part that nearly makes me give up every time, how these delicate stems move with even the slightest breeze. You line up the shot, breathe out, and suddenly it’s swaying again. It can be frustrating in the moment, but there’s something beautiful in that too. That constant movement is exactly what makes them feel alive. It’s the reminder that air is always here, always shifting things, always inviting me to loosen my grip a little.

This is the energy I’m choosing more of this season softness, lightness, and the quiet clarity that comes from letting things move the way they need to.

Tonight, under a Waxing Gibbous moon, bright and becoming, not yet full (taken today at 3.30pm) I’m closing the year with a quiet breath. There’s something comforting about a moon that is still on its way. It reminds me that I don’t need to arrive perfectly to begin again.

I’m honouring the soft work I’ve done in the dark this year. The small shifts. The gentle courage. The moments I chose tenderness when it would’ve been easier to harden. This work continues.

I’m stepping into the new year like this moon, slowly brightening, without rushing, trusting that fullness will come in its own time. And just like this almost‑full moon, my business is growing in its own bright, steady way and I can’t wait to step out, share my work, and see it woven into the beautiful things others are creating. It excites me in a way that feels both grounding and expansive, like seeing my work find its place in the world.

Take a walk in the woods with me…

We searched for ladybirds. We hunted for Bob (a finger puppet, see last photo). We laughed, wandered, paused, climbed and played. And all the while, I moved around them, quietly a witness to their story and connection. No posing. No pressure. Just the kind of magic that happens when you let life lead.
