✨ Starting out in photography often means working with the basics, and that’s okay - every great photographer began at the bottom. It’s less about having the most expensive equipment and more about learning how to use what you have to capture meaningful shots. As your skills grow, so will your gear, but it’s patience and persistence that truly shape your journey. Photography is a craft built step by step, and the rewards come to those who stick with it.

Clipstone Colliery, located in Nottinghamshire, was one of the region’s most significant coal mines, originally opened in 1922. It became especially notable in the 1950s when its iconic headstocks and winding gear were constructed, which remain some of the tallest in Europe. The colliery played a central role in the local community, providing employment for generations of mining families until its closure in 2003. Today, the towering headstocks stand as a striking reminder of Nottinghamshire’s industrial heritage and the importance of coal mining to the area’s history and identity.
