Viking Drone Services Scotland For centuries, the Vikings were the world’s greatest navigators because they had the best tools and the boldest perspectives.

At Viking Drone Services, we’re bringing that same spirit to the UK skies.

Took the drone up today for a 360-degree look at Inverurie, and the scale of the smoke drifting over from the Cairngorms wildfire is unbelievable. The fire near Aviemore is sending a massive haze right across Aberdeenshire.

🚒 A quick reminder from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service: if you're seeing or smelling the smoke in the area, keep your windows and doors closed as a precaution. Stay safe, everyone!

Sending massive appreciation to all the fire crews and helicopters tackling this complex incident on the ground. 👏

🛸 Keeping History in Focus 🛸

Managed to head up to the stunning East Aquhorthies Stone Circle today to put the DJI Air 3S through its paces!

I was testing out the Feature Lock capability, putting the center stone right in the crosshairs to see how well the camera maintained its lock while moving. Safe to say, the tech didn’t disappoint.

Even with manual maneuvering, the tracking kept the stone circle perfectly centered in the frame, making for some incredibly smooth, cinematic sweeps over this ancient site.

There's something amazing about using cutting-edge drone tech to capture a piece of history that's stood for thousands of years right here in Aberdeenshire.

Check out the stability on this! 👇

Spotted! 🚢 My footage of the stunning National Geographic Endurance from both of its stops in Buckie.
National Geographic Expeditions

The National Geographic Endurance is a state-of-the-art, PC5 Category A ice-classed expedition vessel operated by Lindblad Expeditions in partnership with National Geographic. Launched in 2020, she accommodates 138 guests and features a patented wave-slicing X-Bow and luxurious amenities like glass igloos and infinity tubs.

Purpose-built for year-round navigation in remote polar regions like Antarctica and the Arctic, the ship provides an intimate and scientifically enriching exploration experience.

Key Vessel Features:

Patented X-Bow: The unique, inverted bow design slices through waves, reducing spray and dampening vibration for a highly stabilized, smooth ride in rough polar waters.

Luxury Accommodations:
The ship features Scandinavian-inspired interiors with 76 cabins, most of which include floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies, and hammocks.

Onboard Amenities: Guests can relax in two glass-enclosed igloos, enjoy infinity hot tubs, or use the observation lounge and spa.

Expedition Tools

Dedicated Expedition Base:
A specialized "garage" allows for the secure launching of Zodiac boats, kayaks, snowshoes, and cross-country skis, regardless of weather conditions.

Science Hub:
An onboard lab equipped with state-of-the-art educational tools, allowing guests to work alongside marine biologists, undersea specialists, and National Geographic photographers.

🚁 MACMORAY AT THE LIMIT: THE 120m VIEW! 🏰

I took the drone up to the maximum legal altitude of 120m to capture the true scale of MacMoray 2026, and the perspective is breathtaking! This is the raw, silent footage captured straight from the sky over Cooper Park.

Since drone motors don't make for great soundtracks, there’s no audio on these clips—just pure, cinematic gold showing Elgin like you’ve never seen it before.

Highlights from the top:

The 120m Perspective: Total coverage of the festival boundaries and the massive main stage setup.

Crowd Geometry: Watch the patterns of thousands of fans from a perfect top-down view.

🎧 SILENT CINEMA: Give this a watch and imagine the roar of the crowd rising up to meet the drone. It’s the ultimate "calm before the storm" visual! 🌪️
Can you spot the main stage or find your group in the crowd from 120m up? Let me know! 👇

What an absolute whirlwind of a weekend at MacMoray! 🎡🎶

I’m finally sitting down to process everything, and I’m still buzzing. I had the incredible privilege of providing aerial drone coverage for the festival this year, and let me tell you—seeing that sea of people and the massive main stage from the sky is a perspective I’ll never get tired of.

A massive, heartfelt shoutout to Andy Macdonald and the entire MacMoray Festivals team. Organizing an event of this scale is no small feat, and the hospitality and professionalism from the whole crew made my job an absolute joy. It was a pleasure to work alongside such a hardworking team to capture the magic of the weekend.

The energy from the crowd was electric, the weather (mostly!) played ball, and the view from the "office" was a solid 10/10. 🥂

I’ve got some spectacular footage sitting on my SD cards that I can’t wait to share with you all. From the high-speed sweeps of the crowd to those sunset shots over the stage, stay tuned for the highlights!

Cheers again for having me, Andy—let's do it all again next year! 🚁📸
