The latest addition to my hardware. 😃 This scanner allows me to scan 126 format ( Instamatic ) negatives.
With thanks to Carmarthen Cameras for the prompt supply of this device. 😃

I always use Digital ICE when scanning slides and negatives to remove dust and scratches. The scans below show how effective it is.

As a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, my current project to scan about 1000 negatives begins with loading 14 of them into the negative carrier on my Epson scanner. 😃

I am currently scanning approximately 1000 negatives. All being scanned at 4800 resolution and having Digital ICE (TM) applied.

Just added a Wacom Intuos Pro medium graphics tablet to my hardware. This will allow for more accurate manipulation of the digital images.

A Happy New Year to all my followers.

Here is an example of my photo restoration work.

The first picture is the scanned original, featuring Eleanor Roosevelt and two unknown ladies. The charter being exchanged is for the London chapter of Altrusa International. ( www.altrusa.org )
The picture has been creased, written on and has become blemished and faded through time.

The second image has had the writing removed.

The third image has had the crease removed.

The fourth image has had the majority of the surface blemishes removed.

The fifth and final image has had the white border restored to the image.

Do let me know what you think of the final image; is there anything that could be improved?
