Minimalistic jewellery styling tips✨
Jewellery is one of my absolute favourite thing to shoot, it’s mainly because I get to play around with my macro lens and I just love being to create beautiful set ups that showcase necklaces, rings, earrings & more.
I love styling jewellery in a minimalistic way because it helps to show off the product, let the jewellery shine and be the main focus of the image.
Some of my favourite tips for minimalistic jewellery look:
✨ Less is more. Start off with just using one prop and build your scene from there. Sometimes it’s just about placing the prop in a different place or swapping it out for something else. This way you way you can start creating your scene without making it too busy.
✨Lighting is everything. When you’re creating minimalistic imagery it’s so important to make sure you’re happy with your lighting. There’s less to distract you from a poorly lit image so make sure you consider your light source. Are you using natural light or studio light? If you’re using natural light, think about time of day as well as shooting on a cloudy day vs sunny day.
✨Choose props that will highlight the product you’re selling. If your product is a luxurious hand made jewellery, what could you use to convey that look? Silky fabrics or beautiful trinket dishes could help. If your focus is on floral pieces then maybe you might want to include some delicate flowers in your shot etc.
