As part of the Bevs & Beats Events initiative - on Friday I volunteered to DJ at my son's school reception disco. Aiding them to raise £402. Bringing the direct and indirect fundraising total to £2387 (Great Western Air Ambulance Charity St Peter's Hospice fundraisers included).
Why am I posting this? I have recently learned that schools are disgustingly underfunded (schools have been asking for tissue donations for snotty children as they cannot afford to keep buying them). I am highlighting the importance of supporting PSA groups as they are the backbone of school funding and where people can't afford to donate financially - donating skills is a fantastic way to help.
On a related topic does anyone have any experience with crowd funding? I have not got a clue and have been toying with the idea of crowd funding to raise funds for a DJ mixer, speaker system and lighting that can be used to help school discos or loaned to community fundraising projects.
Bigs thanks to Robbie Savage/Rev Comps for loaning the mixer, and shout out to Minirigs for providing the awesome speaker system and lighting.
