Forget everything you think a "church wedding" is. This one had a "Til Death" neon and an upside-down cross in the crypt, so... buckle up. 🖤
The first time I walked into The Mount Without, I properly stopped and went "what IS this place?" It's a centuries-old church right in the middle of Bristol, but bin off every boring church wedding you've ever pictured. A painted cloud ceiling. Stained glass chucking blue and gold light all over these gorgeous peeling walls. Candles everywhere. And a crypt bar downstairs that looks like the coolest, slightly haunted pub you've ever been in. All the drama of a church, none of the rules, none of the boring stuff. My favourite kind of place, hands down.
And then Corrie and Mark walked in and made it 100% theirs.
Corrie in a mint green sequin dress, a peacock tattooed down one arm, flowers in their hair. Mark in a green suit. Both of them in leopard-print Vans, obviously. A little one absolutely legging it down the aisle before everyone sat down (still one of my favourite photos of the year). Eco wood rings. Wildflowers. A cake that was so them. Cocktails glowing under that neon. Then confetti out in the winter sun, a whole street corner of colour and noise and people losing it.
Honestly? One of the coolest bloody weddings I've ever shot. And the thing that gets me isn't even the venue, mad as it is. It's how much the whole day looked like the two of THEM. No rulebook. No Pinterest board. No "but you HAVE to do it this way." Just their day, exactly how they wanted it, leopard shoes and all.
Because that's the whole point, isn't it? Your wedding should look like YOU. Not like everyone else's.
So if you're after a nice, safe, beige wedding... this probably isn't your sign 😉 But a Bristol wedding that breaks every rule? This is it.
